"Let's Play" being the umbrella term of choice for "recording myself playing video games".
While it seems easy enough with a PC, tons of people record themselves playing games you can't really play on a PC! Like how do you do that, I have a capture card but it's never worked with any of my tellys, am I just buying the wrong TVs or the wrong capture cards or what.
There has to be an easier way, man!
That's literally all this blog is, hello.
How are you all.

Probably once, twice a week at the moment - hoping to do a lot more and build up experience

Did you try asking any dedicated Let's Players on Youtube via Twitter or something? They should know more about this than most people on Cubed3, including me.

Ah, well LPers are usually either loud or intimidating! (that's a good idea though maybe I should do that)

Naw it wouldn't work it'd make people think I was an amateur gamer

Edit this post:
Twitter | C3 Moderator | Backloggery Well, I'm following chuggaaconroy on Twitter (= having his profile in my bookmarks in my case) and he regularly answers questions about recording, what equipment and software he uses and would recommend etc.
Surely there have to be some tutorials on actually recording them on the internet, since so many people are jumping on the Let's Play bandwagon. I would too, if I could afford the stuff required for all that. My new PC would at least be pretty good for rendering videos though.
Edit this post:

Ah! Sorry misread, tired, there are a few options available, if you're to do HD anyway.
These are:
HD Hauppauge
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001M0MY10/ref=asc_df_B001M0MY1010753105?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&tag=googlecouk06-21&linkCode=asn&creative=22206&creativeASIN=B001M0MY10
Connects via USB, then you would record your audio separately (headset?) and sync them together in a video program.
ELgato HD
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Elgato-1GC108801000-Game-Capture-HD/dp/B0082J1YCE/ref=sr_1_3?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1353978446&sr=1-3
HDMI only - usb as well.
Roxio Game Capture
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Roxio-Game-Capture-Xbox-360/dp/B004SB1RVI/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1353978528&sr=1-1-catcorr
Cheapest one, though not the best - captures in standard definition apparently.
There's another, can't recall at the moment, where it records onto a 2.5" internal harddrive first.
I've had no issues with th HD Hauppauge - encodes very quickly, if not instantly, the main issue is adding audio to it and re-rendering as a complete file.

I'm guessing my main problem would be buying equipment, it sounds like a lot of money.. or maybe it isn't anymore, it was when I first looked into it like 4 years ago
Edit this post:
Twitter | C3 Moderator | Backloggery Not speaking from my personal experience, but a lot of Let's Players I'm watching videos from are using the Hauppauge HD jb mentioned and are very satisfied with it.

Was talking about this with Az' the other day.
Capturing HD is horribly expensive, yeah. Capturing a composite SD signal, not so much.
Edit this post:
Cubed3 Limited Staff :: Review and Feature Writer Capturing a composite signal possibly not nearly as nice either - I guess the reason LPers update so regularly is because they must have really wanted to do it to be willing to spend so much money on it!
Whereas my motivation to LP is similar to my reactions to a lot of expensive things I sort of want but can live without for now, "can't be bothered."
Still, will definitely look into it a bit more once my course has finished I think.

Probably, might need a little bit of voice tutoring to really bring it out though
