FE is one game which I have been forever glad I bought (for many external reasons as well). After playing it I soon found myself playing the others, such as Sacred Stones and FE4 (not realised outside of Japan). Now, I realise that it is not a game for everyone (turn-based strategy does not appeal to us all), however FE is a great series and Fire Emblem (the 7th in the series) is argued among fans as the best.

There are flaws in the game. One would have to be the lame multiplayer mode, which lacks maps and is barely entertaining. The tactian (who the player names) was also I relatively useless function, seeing as the character was unable to take part in combat.

One original factor to the game is the fact that once a character dies, they remain dead. This ups the difficulty of the game, as players will find themselves restarting chapters constantly in order not to lose characters. Most other elements of FE aren't really original... 'Scissor, paper, rock' rotation with weapons and other things such as terrain and critical bonuses have been explored in many other series. However FE has a good combination of elements, and is fairly balanced with its characters and maps.

If you're a fan of games such as Final Fantasy and Advance Wars, try Fire Emblem. It is a great game which will keep you entertained for hours (just don't wear out the restart button! XD)
