X-men Legends is a game about fighting and more of that. The game uses a cel-shading style and action music. The story is done in a comic-book fashion.

All of the characters are cel-shaded with black outlines on models. Enemy models are the same, but there are over a dozen x-men to choose from.

The story involves a girl named Magma being kidnapped by Magneto and crew to exploit her powers. The x-men are assigned to retrieve her.

The game as I've stated is about smashing your way through everything. You have two action buttons, a throw button and a modifier button that creates special attacks. You need to build a party of 4 characters, as the computer will control the other 3.

I found the game to be repetitive, because all you will be doing is smashing everything around you. Levels can be long, save points can be hard to come by. Health also does not regenerate in this game, meaning you'll have to scour the level looking for health.

The final straw came when I was finished with a level and looking to save the game in the X-mansion. I then talked to a man and suddenly, I was in another mission! I thought I could beat this, but it turns out, two hits from a sentinel will kill anybody.

Eventually, the sentinels killed all but my wolverine. I saved the game, because I did not want to beat the other level again. I then go into the next area which has 5 sentinels. I try to get out of the mission, no luck. Then I dropped the game.

I won't recommend this game because it is too much about mindless mashing and searching for health packs is a waste of time, when games like Halo have shields that regenerate by themselves. The game is also unnecessarily difficult in my example.
