    Pigs...

on 22.01.2005 at 21:56 Number of Comments Comments: 0
Anyways... I have a very important topic to discuss, it is of GREAT importance. I spent all morning talking to a friend about it, and put so much thought into what I'm going to say. It is a very serious matter, so don't laugh. Pigs. Yes, you heard me correctly.. pigs. Think about it... they got it made! 1. They can get dirty and not have to worry about the constant nagging from the mum. 2. They eat non-stop. and 3. They're PIGS! Genius, funny, plain ol' pigs! Can't beat that. I admit, not all pigs are cool. Porky Pig is way awesome, and Wilber from Charlotte's Web is "Some Pig," but I always hated Miss Piggy horribly, and the three little pigs are just assholes... pigs in general are cool though. Ya know what else? Sandwiches. Nothing beats a good sandwich, except a sandwich made by a pig. No, but ham, or bacon sandwiches are great. And that brings me to another topic. Ham Vs Bacon. I'm finding this really confusing. In America, there is a definite distinction between "Bacon" and "Ham"

    Education

Education is a strange phenomenon. Traditional education, with its underlying mechanistic paradigm, presumes all individuals should learn the same thing in the same way

    Blindness

on 02.01.2005 at 15:53 Number of Comments Comments: 0
I was talking with my friend today, and we came to a very interesting topic: Superficiality. He said one of his main flaws was that he is too superficial. Now, I honestly think we all struggle with this on some level or another. I know I do. Anyway, Josh and I are talking about how people naturally gravitate towards those who are pleasing to the eyes. We talked about how when you take a fancy to someone, its often very very much a physical attraction, yes? Of course, there must be at least some physical attraction, but many times the outside is all we look at. People like to be around beautiful poeple, its that simple.

We talked about how this is really a problem, because many times, those "beautiful" people aren't all that wonderful. Once you get close enough to someone to see their heart and witness their true character, it is that very character that can either make or break them. Sometimes that gorgeous person really is genuine at heart, and is truly wonderful and amazing... but that seems to very rare in these days. On the other hand, many times, you find great treasures hidden away in the hearts of those that are more often over looked because perhaps they are not the most physically beautiful or attractive to look at. So, we asked a question: how can we keep ourselves from being too superficial to see a person for who they really are?

    The answer:

    Blindness.

Now, before you freak out thinking I'm telling you to gouge your eyes out or something, just sit your butt down and listen. How many amazing people might you meet in a single day without the aid of your vision, as opposed to how many you might meet in a week if you could always see who you were speaking to? What would happen if you blindfolded yourself, and sat down with a stranger and had a real conversation? What might your heart see that your eyes alone cannot?

Now, Josh is an amazingly good looking guy. Women seem to throw themselves at him. So we wondered... what would happen if one day somehting happened that took his sight away? If he could no longer see who he spoke to...what incredible people might he become friends with and take to heart that he perhaps wouldn't even talk to on a regular basis? How much more would be be able to see then, with his ears and heart than with his eyes? We also wondered, if something happened that changed the way he looked, how many of his friends would stand with him and love him anyways, just as much? He said he really didn't know.

Then I wondered ... what if I were blind? How would I change if I could not see who was infront of me, speaking to me? Would I be the same as I am now? Or would I have a bigger heart for people, as I would know not but their character? The bible says "from the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks." In other words, whatever your heart may be like will show clearly through your words. If I were blind... would I still be the same as I am now, with sight?

Its not a good feeling to be overlooked by others simply because you don't fit the "beautiful" or "handsome" standard. lol, Trust me, I know that very very well. The thing is, someone can be drop-dead gorgeous and stunning... but if their character is not so great, then whatever they may look like on the outside suddenly has so little power. the girl or guy you might have over looked because he or she wasn't so incredibly wonderful to look at might just have a character that blows you away... and if you take the time to get to know them, you may just find one of the most beautiful people on earth. What have you got to lose?

I'm not in any way saying that beautiful people all have a foul character or a mean heart. There many who are genuinely wonderful! And I'm not saying all those who are not so incredibly beautiful on the outside have a wonderful character either. But you know what? I have found that many many of those that are overlooked on account of their physical appearance know the importance of a truly amazing heart, because its the only thing that might make up for what they lack physically, so they make the most of it.

My point is this: let yourself be blind to the outside. Shut your eyes, so to speak, and let your heart see for you. I tend to believe that a blind man sees so much more clearly than I do, because he sees the heart long before he has any indication as to the outside condition of a person. He's blessed that way. The rest of us should follow the blind man's example, and let our hearts do the looking.

    "Those People"

on 02.01.2005 at 01:48 Number of Comments Comments: 0
Have you ever met one of those people who just keeps you laughing constantly? Or, no matter what's going on, they always seem to be able to put a huge smile on your face? Aren't they just the best? And not just 'the best' but i mean THE best! Yeah, I have a handful of those people. Talk about being blessed, man, I don't know what I would do without you guys! (You know who you are) *points to the three or four people who actually read my ridiculous posts* The lights of my life, you know that? What did I do to deserve such wonderful friends? Well I certainly don't have a clue, but whatever God is thinking, I reckon he should go right on thinkin it. And I thank each and every one of you for putting up with me and my strange antics. I know I can get fairly annoying and what not, and I know I can get nerves like no other, and I do apologize, and hope that you see fit to stick around for a long long time!

I've now run out of words... and an attention span... so I'll be seein yall later, yeah? Have a great time doin whatever it is you're doin, and God Bless!
