    I'm Back

on 30.03.2009 at 16:44 Number of Comments Comments: 9
Well, I return. After what must've been a few months absence from C3 and the internet in general, I must say it's strange to be back.

Moved out of home to cross the border into QLD territory to start my uni life, half way through my first trimester as I type and starting to settle nicely. It's an animation degree for those interested, and for those really interested it's a Bachelor of Interactive Entertainment majoring n Animation. The oonly thing left for this settling in to be complete is to find a new job.

You'd think with all but three months with no internet to distract me I'd actually get to play through some games, but no, I finally played through Psychonauts and the rest of my time went to Brawl and Battletoads.

Anyways, hi all. What's been happening around the place? What big news have I missed? Any new games to look out for?

To any Brisbanian C3ers out there, drop me a PM. We'll have a few beeries and I need someone to show me all the hidden spots around here. And if anyone knows of any jobs around here, preferably in horticulture, I'm all ears.

    Time to post again.

    My return

It was inevitable but the old computer has finally packed it in. Which means I now have a brand spanking new one!SO after two and a bit weeks I'm back, in case any of you even noticed my absense. So now I'm looking for an MMO to play between now and when I get some money for a new 360 or Wii. Any suggestions for a good, free MMO worth looking into?

In other news school is absolutely giving me the shits, only another 17 or so weeks until I'm gone for good minus a few days off for Rugby trips and whatnot. Also after breaking one of the old cues I've gone out and bought myself a loverly new 2-piece Ashwood cue.

Between now and my last blog there have been a few parties and a lot of photos to post which I'll post in the Pics of You thread in a bit.

I picked up Metal Arms, Pikmin 1 and 2 and Luigi's Mansion for $90 a while back. Luigi's Manion was a pretty boss game, Pikmin really isn't my thing though. A bit disappointed to be honest, I'd heard so much good stuff about it that I bought both of them at the same time. Stupid decision now that I think about it, they worth much? I mainly bought Metal Arms because of people on here talking it up so much, but I don't really see it's brilliance. I'll admit I'm not that far through it (around Level 10) but I have no ambission to play through it any further. The people like knighty praising it were right about one thing though, it's hard as a rock.

Kind of a pointless blog but I just felt like writing one, anyway,
    Matt Strong out.

Me! By about a hundred lengths. Yesterday was Boxing Day and that means Boxing Day race meeting!

I got to work behind the bar, depsite being under age (not serving though, next year when I get my RSA I will hopefully). Basically all I did from 6.30 in the morning to 7.30 at night was run between the cool rooms and the bars restocking them. Public holiday rates too, so at $31.40 an hour x 13 hours, that comes to around $400 for one days work (tough work I might add). Not to mention all the free drinks I had, no alcoholic drinks till work was over mind you. Boy did I need one by the end, I had never handled so much alcohol and not drunk any.

I think I had a pretty good day.

    I Call That A Bargain...

    The best I ever had!

Am currently recouperating from a friends party last night. I stayed at his place on Friday night after Touch football with some of the other guys after we got pizza and then went for a night swim at the beach (in the middle of a thunder storm).

Saturday (last) night everyone else came around for the party while my friends parents are away. We all got pretty drunk and then partook in some fairly amusing conversations. Was hilarious when we had to go back to the local IGA to get some more Coke to mix drinks with completely wasted, was even more hilarious when my mate Joe found a brilliant 'shortcut' and ended up in a ditch.

Anyway the point of this blog was more to show off my bargains that I purchased Saturday morning. The closest game shop to where I live is about 20 minutes drive away and because I don't have my lisence yet I don't get in there as much as I'd like to.

    I picked myself up:

    - Wavebird (Pre-owned)

    - F Zero GX (Pre-owned)

    - Metroid Prime (Pre-owned)

    - Eternal Darkness (Pre-owned)

All are in pretty good condition, the Wavebird is missing the battery cover but that's nothing electrical tape can't fix. All up it cost me $65 or according to xe.com that's

    Looking For A Good Time?

    I am.

The winter holidays are upon us once again down here, two weeks of anything but school.Smilie

Just before the holidays the weather was really shitty, it was cold and absolutely pissed down rain for ages and it looked like we were in for one of the worst holiday breaks ever. But thankfully it cleared up and there hasn't been a cloud in the sky so far - good old Alstonville weatherSmilie

The last day of school was fun, as per usual. I thought you got away with a lot at our school before, but being a senior is the sweetest deal. We went up to the music rooms to see what was happening, they're usually cleaning the place up and there are always jobs to get out of class and get lollies forSmilie This time we had the best jobs of all the first was to reorganise all the old records they had and... keep any ones we wanted! So I went home with Tommy and Led Zeppelin IV and a smile on my face, on to the next job. Job number 2 was to eat anything left in the staffroom fridge. Could this day have gotten any better?

We played rugby that night in Grafton (about an hour and a half drive away) and lost as usualSmilie To make things worse I had to miss out on a friends party at the same time. Ah well, not all bad I scored a try (my first for the new season) and we played probably our best game of the season and also I was the player's player for the night. The game didn't start until half an hour after it was meant to and then we had to wait about half an hour for an ambulance afer one of my teammates got concussed and then we had drive around Grafton looking for somewhere open for tea at 11 at night, eventually we got home at 1 am.

Anyway, what to do in these holidays? Plenty! My mates parents have gone up north for holidays for the whole two weeks and have another guy buying drinks for us (we're too young). It has officially been dubbed 'party week'. Then we're headed for another mates 50 acre property for some camping and maybe a bit of bush bashing. There's gonna be a massive bonfire with three huge Aussie Oaks to burn after they got knocked over in the last big storm.

So here's hoping this will be the best holidays ever.
