Times they are a changin'
With Christmas just around the corner, it got me to thinking. When I got my SNES, my NES became obsolete, when I got my N64, my SNES was old news, when I got my Gamecube, my N64 gathered dust...all these old consoles, which, when we first got them, were the best thing since sliced bread, fade out so quickly when a newer model becomes available. We reconnected our SNES the other day, JEEZ I couldn't believe the shite graphics of Buster Busts Loose...which I seem to remember being cutting edge graphics at the time LOL. RIP all our old machines, you served us well. Also, does anyone know of any sites that still sell retro games? I'm after the SNES version of Goof Troop, unless one of you guys has it (PAL Version)

The old timer's needing attention, 'Wii' hope it'll be ok
Guys, just throwing out a call for help to see if anyone has any ideas on what the next step is....Basically I have had my Wii since launch day, but over the last few weeks we have noticed a loud whirring from the machine itself while it is switched on.
It may be the internal fan, or something else. Does anyone know if it can be fixed...WITHOUT wiping the Wii's internal memory, as I have game data that I cannot copy to an SD card.
Thanks for any advice

Does anyone else feel like any peripherals never actually make so much of an impact that they form a part of everyday gaming?I refer to your Wii Fit balance boards, your Guitar Hero and Rockband instrument kits, those NASTY holders they brought out for Wii Sports. The only peripheral I can swear that makes me want to use it again and again is the Mariokart wheel, because I have never used anything else, but I am aware that other control systems can be substituted.
We all get these games with their add-ons, and yeah, it's all great for the first week, month, whatever, but then what? I have a complete Rockband instrument kit, collapsed since Xmas and unlikely to make another appearance until the same time this year if that, one of my Guitar Hero guitars is also collapsed, with the other gathering dust as I don't really play it any more, just the missus maybe half an hour a fortnight on that Cliffs of Dover song...great song btw, but not when you've had to sit through it as often as I have.
There just doesn't seem to be any longevity any more with this stuff. I remember when the NES was released and the Zapper came out, Duck Hunt was great but was always worth a revisit...even if it was to pointlessly aim at that bloody laughing dog, the Super Scope (SNES) was a waste of time, I never got into that.
It just seems like too much effort to get all the kit out to play a game when you can just click in a Nunchuk and put Zelda on, or hook up a WaveBird and chuck Brawl on.
Don't get me wrong, I'm impressed with every piece of equipment brought out with a game, no matter whether I like the game or not, they are still great ideas well implemented, it's just that it all seems to fade away after the hype of the newness has worn off

Please please please please can one of you great great people PM me in relation to making me a Sig Pic? I've seen all the pro ones you all have and wouldn't waste my time trying to make one half as good as those. Thanks guysStar Wars Related...kinda
Ok, after a weekend spent almost entirely on the Wii, I decided to do the norm and chill watching TV for a while. Flicking through the channels, I stumbled on a re-run of Smallville, where, to my surprise, I saw the apprentice from the Star Wars game, The Force Unleashed, poncing about as a medic called Davis. Then it hit me, Jedi should all become medics! (Bear with me on this) Think about it, there has been an accident and someone is trapped under a car, the Jedi could lift the car easily enough and even use some sort of healing move to help out (it was available in Super Star Wars on the SNES) and rather than charging paddles in the ambulance, if someone flatlined, the Jedi could just use lightning to revive them.Currently Playing: Truant
