A Tonne of New Dragon Quest X Screens

Square Enix have released even more screenshots from the Wii version of the eagerly anticipated online RPG Dragon Quest X.

Due for release on both the Wii and Wii U, the game boasts a wealth of customisation option, mass online play and classic Dragon Quest gameplay/design. Despite the vast online nature, there is a core story as players begin by choosing one of two orphaned troublesome siblings living in the village of Etene - you design both and set out on an adventure, eventually somehow transforming from human to one of five different races.

The screens divuldge some of the battle mechanics, the cast you'll meet in the village, enemies and a lass with leafy pom-poms. Charming!

Rise of the Five Tribes Online is due for release on Wii next year and will have cross-platform compatibility with the Wii U bigger-brother. Lucky Japanese folk can get their mitts on the beta edition early next year for early testing and bug hunting.

Aw, screenshots from the Wii version again. I'd actually like to see some from the Wii U version for once just to see how much of a graphical improvement it's going to be.

There will probably be no improvement considering the Wii is the lead platform. Maybe models will be a bit smoother and textures higher-res, but the art style is meant to look similar on both the Wii and WiiU.

Showing Wii U screens before the Wii version is out would hamper the sales of the latter IMHO. They sure must be hoping for people who got the original to cave in a second time once the better version is out. Would make more sense, from a sales point of view.

Wouldn't be surprised if game saves are stored online so you can continue your adventure on Wii U where you left it in the Wii game, once the Wii U version gets released.

Only difference between the Wii and the Wii U versions will be framerate and how smooth the online play really is. I'm getting the Wii U version in 2013.

I really hope this sells well despite all the smart people (like myself) who are going to get the Wii U version instead!!

It saves you money in the long run by only getting the best version, just like how it's driving me MAD that I haven't played Batman Archam City even though I have a ps3...because they announced it for Wii U why bother with ANYTHING ELSE!!!

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

Thoroughly disappointed by how this looks on Wii, and how I expect it to look on WiiU - not much better.

After playing the last dull slog-fest on Nintendo DS, I have little interest in buying DQX, especially considering this one's made by Square Enix.

I'm sure I'll be playing far more innovative and better JRPG's next year, JRPG's attempting to be on par with Western games in genre.
