The previously rumoured Wii title from Platinum Games has been fully unveiled by Japanese Magazine Famitsu.

A scan of the magazine article is below.

    The scan describes the following features of Mad World;

    - black and white game world, red blood
    - action game with 'comical' ultra-violence
    - 'Cheerful violence' and 'Curb Brawler'
    - main character carries the burden of his past on his shoulders, and must deal with his killing ways
    - Director - Shigenori Nishikawa
    - no official Japanese release date at this time

Unfortunately this, and Platinum Games' other titles don't look set to hit retail until 2009.

    Update

The trailer that was making the rounds previously was also the official one. See below for the best results.

A quick note, I would have posted up one of those trailers that are buzzing around Youtube, but they seem to be getting canceled every 5 minutes, so it'd be best to wait for the official trailer.Smilie

Looks like a Clover game! Possibly not my type, but it's good to know they're finally doing something. We could be seeing more genius eventually.

This'll probably get censored like No More Heroes.

I can already imagine a censored version, No More Heroes style.

    iFrit, tiamat1990:

No More Heroes was not censored. It was self-censored by the publishers. Had Ubisoft taken up the European rights, instead of Rising Star, we would have had the bloody version without question. Since Rising Star is part of Marvellous (the Japanese publishers of NMH) we got the self-censored Japanese version.

Resident Evil 4 and Killer 7 were both released on Nintendo systems with far more violence and gore than NMH. Manhunt 2 was eventually released, and was still extremely gory. God of War and many, many other gory games have been released in the UK on non-Nintendo systems.

Censorship is not a fucking issue in the UK unless you make a game about sadistic torture (Manhunt 2).

This game looks very stylish, however there seems to be a distinct lack of action, I would prefer this to be a lil bit faster.

I suppose I'm just living in hope of a next-gen Streets of Rage *Eyes gloss over and mouths hangs open*
