Brash Entertainment have announced the release of Space Chimps for next-generation consoles.
Based on the CGI film from the creator of Shrek, John H. Williams, Space Chimps follows a mischievous lil' chimp called Ham, the grandson of the first monkey sent into space. He's sent up to investigate a brand new planet but ends up in the hands of the evil King Zartog. Ham steps up to save his follow simian chums – Titan and Luna and free captured alien folk.
Players explore many of the environments from the film by jumping, climbing and swinging their way through 11 unique levels and encountering familiar faces and enemies. The Wii version follows the console-based platforming formula, whilst the DS take sees exclusive control with two player multiplayer antics.
The game will be available for Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 2 and DS in August 2008.

The Space Chimps film introduces a colourful cast of characters that fans will love," explained. We've collaborated with Vanguard to create a game that incorporates the characters and world of the movie whilst adding a unique storyline with additional new characters, that will give fans the opportunity to live in the Space Chimp world a little longer.
