New Details on Sonic Unleashed Wii
Recent News
A recent hand-on experience with Sonic Unleashed has given light to more information regarding the Wii version.
Although the demo was from the X-Box 360 build of the title, IGN have been able to salvage some new facts about the upcoming Wii release.
The controls to Unleashed will be quite different to Sonic's other Wii outing, Secret Rings, in that the default option will be Wii Remote and Nunchuk, as opposed to remote-horizontally. Gamecube Pad support has been confirmed as an alternative, and possibly Classic Controller too.
Also, Dimps, of whom were already confirmed to be helping out with the Wii and PS2 builds of the game, will be concentrating on the Daytime level designs, the main Sonic sections. The levels in these two versions will be quite different to the Playstation 3/ X-Box 360 builds, although exactly how is unknown.
Also, Multiplayer options have been ditched from Unleashed, so all effort will be spent on a Single-Player experience.

Link / SuperLink9No multiplayer? Aww but race mode is best on 2D Sonic games.
Also if Dimps is working on the Wii version it might be better...
This is sounding pretty good TBH. Dimps have made the best Sonic games in the last 10 years.

I thought race mode sucked on all Sonic games...
Sonic has never really been about the multiplayer, so I'm not that fussed about it.

noneDont see why the levels need to be different.
Just lower a few polygon counts and burn the lighting in :-/
As for controlls..hmm...I dont think Sonic needs more then the + and a/b to be honest :p

Link / SuperLink9But I really like the race mode in Sonic Rush, and Sonic 2, and Sonic Advance.
Yeah I agree for the most part... I think the main resources will be going to the bigger versions. Shame as I would like them to expand on SatSR's controls

SkillzI read there would be next to no motion support for this one, which is disappointing coz I mastered Secret rings' controls and gameplay.

FlynnieSo you figured out where all those nice glitches were in SatSR and moved your wii remote, left, right and up all the other times...well done.
If there isnt any motion support then i may aswell get the 360 version...especially if the Wii version is going to be cut down...

SkillzThere more to the controls than that, you might not know how useful actions like sliding were to getting sonic past obstacles and through spikes. That's one of many actions I can't be bothered to name of the top of my head.
Name a game without glitches??...?

jbcubed3.Sounds great; especially the idea that there could be classic control schemes. Shame about the lack of multiplayer, but really hoping that this'll be the winning formula for 3D sonic. Secret Rings was decent, so good to see similar approaches with the 3D (quick step etc).

If Dimps are only making the Wii/PS2 version, then I have a feeling you may want to keep a closer eye on those ones.
I think they'll all be quite good, but I'll probably end up getting both. They may as well be different games. ;D
