Beyond Good And Evil 2 not on Wii

It seems that more has to be gained from the original jeuxvideo Beyond Good and Evil 2 article, including that it would be a PS3 and X-Box 360 game.

Originally, the interview wasn't just with Michel Ancel, it was with Yoshitaka Amano (Final Fantasy artist) and French comic artist Enki Bilal as well, but it is unknown if they would be working on this title alongside Ancel.

Unfortunately, Ancel says that the game, if it does get into full development, won't be made for Wii, despite the low development costs and controls that would suit Beyond Good and Evil 2 very well.

Have your say on this story below.

I guess it'll look a lot nicer on PS3 and 360 but I don't know whether they'll be getting the market that most wants a BG&E sequel.

Of course, I'm likely to say this on a Nintendo website..

Why can\'t ubisoft do the right thing for once? their line-up sucks, they need to redeem themselves to us... and still refuse to, incredible

Wii would be cheaper as well, if it\'s not even aproved by ubi yet

The article says that thr project is completely unofficial, and i don't think they even know which platform it's gonna be released on. They're just speculating. Ancel didn't clearly say "This is gonna be for the PS3 and 360, and not ont the Wii".

And frankly speaking, if you knew jeuxvideo magazine as i do, you'd know they're strongly opposed to the Wii. So i wouldn't put my hopes to rest for a BGE sequel on the Wii, if i were you guys Smilie

It doesn't matter we've got Monster 4x4, Raving Rabbids, Red Steel and the list goes on.

I do wonder how well it will sell compared to the first game. If people didn't get it before are they going to get it now?

That's sarcasm right? The Wii NEEDS something like this for Wii fans to get some respect for Ubisoft back. Ubisoft are as craptastic as ever I see. So when's the spin-off coming out?

BTW I could see this coming as soon as I remembered BG&E was destined for a trilogy.

One day I will be a real life anime.

Exactly, SuperLink. And BG&E has their greatest fanbase on Wii or so it seems. It's Ubisoft's Okami, but they don't realise that.
That habit is what killed Cube in the first place.
I find your lack of faith disturbing!

...aaaaaaaand, there it is. I can't say I'm shocked. Although, I can say I'M EXTREMELY ANGRY! So many devs are pulling sh*t like this on Wii. If Wii is lucky enough to even get an installment in whatever franchise or IP, it's almost always a half-assed, low-budge, in-inspired port or spin-off. Smilie

You know, this kind of business would make much more sense IF WII WASN'T THE MOST POPULAR CONSOLE ON THE F***'N PLANET!

Okay... *takes deep breath* ...rant's over... *passes out*

So developing a sequel to a niche tittle that saw decent sales on the GC to release on the Wii which offers the best control configuration for this type of game AND means a development investment of 1/5 of what will have to be spent for a 360/PS3 version... doesn\'t make sense? The Wii leads in total consoles sales and that number will only grow once Wii Fit and the Wii are not supply constrained. Plus you have to add the Korean and Chinese markets to the equation.

Too bad, I was ready to buy a Wii-make of the 1st one in preparation for the sequel...

    Its just a guess.

How can a game not in preduction have a platform yet?

Id bet BG&E will be like before, every platform you can to maximise sales.
This time they wont have temporary ps2 exclusive which proved a mistake last time. (sold more on cube despite the huge delay)
