Nippon Ichi Brings Rhapsody to Nintendo DS

By Adam Riley 24.05.2008 2

The old school Musical RPG from ten years ago on the PSone is set to return on Nintendo DS thanks to Japanese developer Nippon Ichi. The company has opened up the teaser website for Marl Oukoku no Ningyouhime, the game that is being lined up for a 7th August, 2008 release in Japan. For those that have not heard of the original game, which came to the US via Atlus under the name 'Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure', the game centres around a young girl called Cornet who can talk to puppets. She has a special magical horn that can grant wishes, as well as a best friend called Kururu that happens to be a puppet who was previously her best friend. There were two sequels to the original title, neither of which were translated for the West. Nothing has been said about whether they will eventually come to DS as well, though.

Stick around for more updates and check out the slew of screens and art in the media folder below, as well as the video clip of the PSone game above...

I look forward to anything by Nippon Ichi. Smilie

That video sure showed lots of dialogue.

The more Nippon Ichi stuff the better, I say. Hopefully the developer will climb aboard the WiiWare service as well...
