New Wario Wii Title and Fatal Frame 4 Details

The previously rumoured Balance Board-enabled Wario game has been given another boost in credibility, although the result is not quite what you'd expect. Also, new shots of the upcoming Fatal Frame 4.

Originating from Nintendo's Japan Release dates site, is the following;

7?10? DS???????? ???????????? 4,800?
7?24? Wii?????? ???? 5,800?
7?31? Wii? ????? 6,800?
7?31? DS????????? 3,800?
8? 7? DS?????????? ???????? 4,800?

Which translates to;

July 10 DS Densetsu no Starfi
July 24 Wii Wario Land Shake
July 31 Wii Rei (Fatal Frame)
July 31 DS Rhythm Tengoku Gold
Aug 7 DS Fire Emblem DS
Aug 22 DS Inazuma Eleven

Many had assumed that it would be a WarioWare title that would make use of the board, so a Wario Land game with the giveaway 'shake' subtitle is quite surprising. The full price of the title would negate any Wiiware ideas for the game, so chances are that this is a Balance Board-supported release.

Also of note on the list, is the close release date of Fatal Frame 4, of which a magazine scan has been shown recently;

A Wario game using both the board and hand controlers would be prety awesome for the franchise. I hope to see a platformer soon also.

I hope Nintendo don't mess up this Wario game... I did want another Warioware with the Balance Board though, so I hope Nintendo aren't doing this instead and that Warioware is still on the way.

It looks like eventually I'll just have to get a Balance Board then...I wanted to save my money too. Maybe when they're as cheap as the GC Bongos became..

Shane, that's not a WarioWare game, it's a platform outing from the Wario Land series that was on GB/GBC and GBA. It will be Wario Land 5, a true sequel, rather than the Master of Disguise off-shoot that was on DS.

And it's great to see Densetsu no Stafi 5 coming. It's been so long since the 4th game I had a feeling TOSE had another one cooking...and considering how popular Rhythm Heaven was on GBA at the end of its lifespan, no wonder it's making a comeback on DS! Smilie

I'm still holding out for a WarioWare Balance game as well.

is the balance board optional? i hate how nintendo are making so many games that FORCE you to buy the extra gadgets. We've already got the wiimote and nunchuck that cost �45 together, just give us games that we can play without stupid peripherals! Smilie

What is the difference between Wario Land and WarioWare?

I have Smooth Moves so I know what WarioWare is like. What is the other?

warioland is a platformer game, which is more like the super mario series, but also differs a lot as it involves unique gameplay and humour. hope that helps to give you an idea, if not then try googling it. Smilie

Awesome! I hope this is true. It's about damn time we got another installment to the Wario Land series. Smilie I like the idea of including Wii Balance Board support. I just hope it's not mandatory. I'm really curious as to how they'll implement it.

Personally, I'm dying for Nintendo to release a "Wario Bros." type of game where both Wario & Waluigi are on a quest of some sort, together. That's right. I said Wario and Waluigi. Hey, Waluigi kicks @ss! Smilie Seriously though, with Wi-Fi and splitscreen co-op, it could easily be an icredible game.

There is a DISTURBING lack of a highlighted Rhythm Tengoku sequel in that list, guys.

Rhythm Tengoku. One of the best music games ever created.

No words can express my joy. I don\'t even care if it\'s a re-release with extra levels added in, which might be implied by the \'gold\'.

EDIT: Also, new Wario Land, new Starfy. Nintendo is on a roll.

Hopefully Wario Land is really fun (even with the regular control setup)

I really hope the Balance Board gets a price cut reasonably soon though. At its current price, I have no desire to get one any time soon. Wii is supposed to be affordable, but if I start piling on expensive peripherals then there's gonna be a giant hole in my wallet.

Wario Land Shake will have hand drawn backgrounds with toon-shaded characters, and Japanese blogger sinobi reckons "The definitive Wario platform game may have finally been produced. Even people who just like 2D platformers should buy this." It will be a 'lively action' game, according to reports coming out of Japan, in which players will shake the Wii Remote, as well as tilt it, to make things occur in the game.
