FFXII GC?

The latest issue of Famitsu is due out on the 7th February, 2003 - and in it there is rumoured to be an interview with Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto and Yasumi Matsuno of Square. In it, they both speak talk about their current projects and plans.

What follows is a rough translation of a sample of the interview:

Miyamoto: 'How are they progressing with Final Fantasy XII?'
Matsuno: 'Well, the collaboration with Nintendo was helpful. Should I really have announced that yet (laughs)?'
Reporter: 'So Final Fantasy XII is not for the PlayStation 2?'
Miyamoto: (laughs)
Matsuno: 'When the time is ripe, I will announce it.'

So is this a practical joke? Has someone made this up and leaked it? Well, there's just over a week to go before it can be confirmed. We could very well be seeing the first proper Final Fantasy game on the 'Cube sooner than we thought!

And if this turns out to be true...remember where you heard it first!
