Special Okami Boxart From HMV

By Shane Jury 05.06.2008 12

For Okami's Wii release next week, UK Games, Music and DVD Retailer HMV will be offering an exclusive alternative cover for the game.

The Cover below, obtained from HMV's Official Website, looks very similar to the replacements Capcom had to offer to US Okami owners for a cover blunder, thankfully neither this cover, or the normal one, has any mis-placed Watermarks;

Dunno about you guys, but this news has made me reconsider where I'm getting Okami from.Smilie

I never really liked the original blue cover anyway... what's wrong with the old PS2 one?

Gorgeous... It's weird, those alternative boxarts really make me want to buy the game. Maybe I should motivate my brother to get it, I'm sure he'll love it.

That's lurvely.

Same here, I was going to keep it easy and get it at my local Gamestation, but after seeing this my mind is made up.

Ah, so it doesn't have the IGN logo on it. Nice. Wait... Oh, it's totally different! Smilie

Seriously, though. My, Sis, picked up Okami for Wii a couple weeks ago and she absolutely refuses to give the original PS2 version a try. She LOVES the Wii version. And from everything she's telling me, I think I'm going to have to pick up a copy for myself soon.

Although, I must say I'm still angry with Capcom for adding yet another half hearted PS2 port to Wii's evergrowing 'PS2 port repertoire' (not to mention the multitude of forked tongued promises and "GameCube Exclusives" from last-gen). Bastards. Smilie

Decent (or even great) Wii controls or not, they couldn't have found any usage for all that extra horsepower Wii has? Or at the very least, included 'making of' documentaries, concept art, music, etc., etc. if they weren't going to add any new content at all. They're cheap, biased corporate boneheads who ultimately don't take Wii's fanbase seriously and are looking for a quick cash in.

Now If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go buy Okami. lol It's a love/hate relationship. Smilie

Chance favors the prepared mind.

Looks nice! Hopefully Australia gets the same. Smilie

It looks pretty AWSOMENESS! Smilie And I think I have 5 on my HMV card so mebbe im gonna buy it! Smilie

I just need one of you beeches to tell me if its any good!!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

no matter how ugly it looks

this looksa lot better thatn the one for the PS2 and it has a Nintendo touch to it. It also looks like it has a lot more detail than the one for PS2 Smilie

Hmmm looks nice, too bad HMV in Australia doesn't sell games. I reckon the cover with the misplaced watermark would be probably be worth more though.

As col as that looks I doubt I would buy it from HMV, everytime I have been in there they have overcharged for most games, even the crap ones.
