Capcom have unveiled the box-art design from the upcoming Wii version of Resident Evil Zero.

The game is a port of the 2002/03 GameCube prequel to the Resident Evil series following the tale behind Rebecca Chambers' past before the Mansion incident that follows.

Available for a bargain price of 4,190 Yen (€25), it'll arrive in stores on July 10th 2008.

A Western release is currently not planned.

Bio 0 is an entirely different game to Bio1/RE1. Smilie

Plus, it\'s not like you have to specifically go out and buy it. Personally, I like that they\'re bringing it over to the Wii as it didn\'t really get recognized on the cube when it came out due to the time it did (ala: death of the cube period, pretty much).

I will be importing a copy myself, as a collector of the series <3 July 10, come faster damn it.

Yeah well it's still unlikely to come here and with good reason. On the subject of the art work, damn it sucks, the other minimal mock cover looked much better.

It was released a year after the Japan's GameCube release, and a year after the European GameCube release - so not really the death of the Cube period, if anything during the early days.

Not sure why it wasn't as well adopted as other Resident Evil games in Japan - it even got 38/40 in Famitsu back then.

Really, as much as that, I never knew that. Still, we all know what Famitsu reviews can be like.

Yes, I don't like it either. rendered characters grow old and ugly after roughly 2 years. Painted or arranged pictures look way better. At least they should overpaint it...

He doesn't have to, but he may have his opinion told here. He's getting sick. it's his right to dislike that. I understand viper.fox.

But I think it's kind of time to built a new RE on Wii instead of calming down Nintendo-fans with cheaply made ports of older games. I don't say that this game has quality, but it's waaaay cheaper to port a Cube-game to Wii and not rebuild anything beside controls and maybe some balancing then to built a game from the ground up like RE4,5 or RE5 or 5.notaportfrom5 for Wii.
You very easily can overdo this porting. Everyone here is... ehm... kinda sick about this. We lose faith in Capcom as a good supporter of Nintendo with almost always good quality work...
I find your lack of faith disturbing!

I have RE0 on the Cube. It's a very decent game, although I can imagine it's hard to go back to those controls after playing RE4.
I quite liked the mini-game where you had to collect items before the time ran out. I never got that last scarab though...

I'm sorry, but I totally support Capcom's current releases on the Wii. Zack and Wiki, Resi4, Resi: UC, Okami, Resi0. Not to mention Monster Hunter 3. Considering the rate at which these games have sold on Wii, they will release more. and if those games are 5-star PS2 ports I've never played before, I'm really going to be ok with that.

This should not be remade on the Wii because it has been done and what is the point of having it on another console. Smilie
