Thanks to Jump_Button for the tip.

Original story -

Various details and screens from the Wii-exclusive Technu outing, including Ubisoft announced as publisher.

  • Continues the story behind the two stars of previous Tenchu games: Rikimaru and Ayame, following 1 year after the riots caused by the Witchcraft Lord Tenrai.
  • Stealth Ninja Action game players sneak about and assassinate.
  • Improvement in production and visual aesthetics trying to make the title, both in game and through presentation, an "epitome of the series".
  • Refreshed character design, art direction new actors compliment the change.
  • Specifics of each characters come in their killing techniques, with unique moves.
  • Classic stealth movement hiding in water, climbing on ceilings, dark corners etc. Collect information, attack when needed very much regular stealth gamplay.
  • Hiding bodies throwing some in water, for example.
  • Various ninja tools used in conjunction with the Wii remote and nunchuck.
  • From Software revealed the game during a recent conference, detailing some of the title's unique aspects on Wii, also highlighting room for a trilogy on the way (platforms TBA). Ubisoft's Steve Miller was present at the event, confirming the company will be handling distribution in North America and Europe.

A handful of swanky new screens can be found in the game's album below. Thanks to the folks at NeoGAF.

Looks pretty decent, better than the Xbox/360 versions, still would need a bit of work on the textures but generally much better than recent Wii third-party efforts!

Can't wait to see a decent trailer.

Don't know much about this series, other than the past couple of games have been deemed dire. Although I hear that this is the first game since the originals where the original developer is on board.

Tenchu is a bit of a has-been, unfortunately. It was great stuff in 1998, but the series hasn't really moved on.

Hopefully it will do, though at this stage it does sound very familiar. I'm hoping decent Wii controls will take it a forward better than recent outings.

True, that first PS1 game was great, then it all went a bit down hill, still, this game is being made by the very same people who made that first game so I have hope. There are also Wii controls to consider and I can easily imagine them working great with a game of this type.

Were the rest of the games not made by the original team? Anyway, the gameplay needs a total overhaul. I'm not optimistic. It may yet surprise us, though.

Hmmm, doesn't look too great to me. Gameplay footage is what I need.

Looks good. will probably get this game.

definetly a Wii game then, trailer looks quite decent graphically, but obviously not PS3/360 territory.

I think it looks good. Aren't there some ingame footage in there? Just look!
I think it looks seriously. So meaning spoken in Wii terms: fresh!

I find your lack of faith disturbing!
