Nintendo Offers One New WiiWare Game for Europe

By Adam Riley 06.06.2008 6

This week Europe is treated to...just ONE new WiiWare game, Mitchell's Puzzloop, under its European branding of 'actionloop'. Strangely enough, the Press Release seems to think the DS version (reviewed here) was also called 'Actionloop Twist', or at least that is how it is worded! Details are below:

This week the popular Nintendo DS puzzle game Actionloop Twist launches on WiiWare! Pick your favourite Mii character and take control of the Gemstone launcher simply by twisting the Wii Remote back and forth, firing magnetic Gemstones of matching colours to make them disappear before they reach the end of the loop. Jump straight into the action in QuickPlay modes for one or two players, put your skills to the ultimate test in Challenge mode, or see if you can survive the Quest mode where every level brings a new way to play. Or, if you're in a party mood, try Multiplayer mode for up to four players; either with friends, against the computer, or a combination. Cooperate and clear the Gemstones together, or compete to see who is the Actionloop Twist master! Actionloop Twist is available now on WiiWare for 1000 Wii Points.

This will come as a major disappointment to those expecting much more in the second week of the service, especially given the PEGI-rated games discovered recently by Cubed³.

Bit of a shame, they should perhaps consider releasing titles on a monthly basis - add 5/6 new titles each month, and as the service grows, have more frequent releases.

Sounds like a decent title, though wouldn't be so sure if I'd splash for it.

No new VC game either... =/
Not that I've ever bought one.

Somewhat disappointing, especially when you know top games are lined up. I think certain titles are doing so well and Nintendo do not want to stop that by releasing something too attractive.

I still havnt had time to get LostWinds.
(playing Zack & Wiki still...savoring every moment)

Personaly though, I see this as good.
You dont want to overload the system at first, give people a chance to buy the quality (LostWinds), before it gets drowned out.

WiiWare in NA has a lot more titles than us - I'm sure they've been getting titles weekly. And we've got 1 more after 2 1/2 weeks? I think that's bit disappointing, but of course I don't know what goes on behind the scenes.

Lets hope the amount of WiiWare titles pick up each week.
