Will Sadness finally be revealed? Nibris's business development partner Fog studios seem to think so.

Sadness is one of the Wii's longest running projects that has seen scraps of information At the end of May a single image filtered into our inbox, yet still seeming to be a concept artwork of some kind.

Developer Nibris will apparently be launching a new website next week, according to an interview with business partner Fog Studios. Speaking to The WiiCast, company representative Adam Spencer re-iterates the game does exist.

Will: Adam, Thanks for being able to talk to me about Sadness. I think the biggest question my readers have for you is 'Is Sadness real? and if so have you seen any progress made on the game?"

Adam: Sure, Will. Obviously there's only so much I can say. I can tell you for sure that the project is real, they're actively developing it. There's no publisher for the game yet and as such it's impossible for us to say when the game is going to be released. Basically, that's the official statement. Nibris is doing an overhaul to their official site now. Next week they're supposed to launch it and there will be some added information and a couple screenshots.

Will: Are you guys in constant contact with Nibris or do you feel you get long periods of silence like the public does?

Adam: Oh, Yeah. We communicate with them just about every day. We're their development end. We basically manage all of their business development.

Will: Do they send you assets to look at? Have you seen a steady stream of screenshots and video?

Adam: Yeah I see everything that the public sees and we see a few other things as well. Obviously, I can't disclose any added information beyond the fact that the game does exist and it is being shopped to publishers but there hasn't been a fit just yet.

Will: Okay, Without giving away any details or anything, can you tell me if you.

Nibris's official website currently displays a placeholder image with "coming soon" message.

The concept art we've seen to this point has been amazing. I'm hoping that this game and The Conduit will show what third parties can do on the Wii when they put their minds to it (although I feel that Capcom has done a good job developing for the Wii with RE 4, RE: UC, and Zack & Wiki).

My worry is that if it's supposed to be this cool game like many think it is why then are not publishers clambering to get a deal done.

After the Crossbeam Studios shambles (lets face it, they did make a balls up out of it), how do we know that "active development" isn't still brainstorming and concept arting?

Bring me some footage, Nibris, then we'll talk.

Well, in the interview it says that publishers are looking over it. The concept would easily make for a publisher, however, who knows wether Nibris screwed up bad and made, what would be an excellent game, into a piece of shit.

I hope they didnt. I like the concept, the art, the music, and what is known about the "story".

OK. What I don't get is how you can be anticipated about a game noone knows anything about and probably isn't real/good.

I think they gave Bloober Team the rights to work on that so Bloober Teaam might be working on it. If not, than maybe after Sadness comes along, they might work on ROTR. Thats if Sadness DOES come out.

This game exists. Whether it exists as a figment of the dev's imagination or in a physical shape, that's yet to be decided.

I'm confident we'll see this game eventually. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
