THQ have let loose a series of gameplay videos from the Wii-exclusive adventure for fans of creepy crawlies: Deadly Creatures.

Love a good dose of spiders, scorpions, lizards, black widows and snakes? It's the world of deadly creatures - where players take control of a deadly scorpion or tarantula in a bid to fight for survival.

Deadly Creatures crawl onto shelves this October.

I've been looking forward to proper gameplay movies for a while, and it was worth the wait. The combat doesn't look that great, but the atmosphere, visuals and animation seem fantastic. The hair on that spider's legs...*shudder*

Shaping up well. Making me feel itchy now.
Conducted with market research firm NPD, the study surveyed 2,611 gamers and determined that lines between casual and hardcore are blurry at best, and gamer demographics are broader than conventional thinking has held. As Big Fish chief strategy officer (CSO) Paul Thelen stated during a Casual Connect keynote, the traditional casual approach of "'one size fits all' doesn't work."

    Never heard of this.
Can someone sum it up in a few lines?
    Preferably rhyming.

Killing insects is pretty violent for a Wii game I suppose Smilie

Some of those brown environments look a little bland for good gameplay, the others look alright though. The framerate needs upping and some of those textures certainly. I reckon this could work well as a online game, they could throw in a bit of waggle here and there and I seriously think it could be fun if they could apply the focus on stealth and evade as well as attack.

I think the levels are supposed to be divided between stealth and action ones anyway LS.

The branches/etc. are lovely in that geometry vid!

Yeah the branches were pretty cool, but i agree with Linkyshinks about the textures. The world needs a bit more contrast. There's just too much brown everywhere. Anyway I probably won't buy this anyway. Battling bugs don't really intrigue me.

The gameplay looks a bit generic, but besides that it looks quite good.

Looks great! Some murky textures, but pretty sharp! My only real complaint is that the animation seems a bit choppy at times/not very organic for creatures.

I think they've got the animation pretty spot on actually. Did anybody else see the life-like little twitch that the spider's legs did when it had stood still at one point (can't remember which video it was now)? Brilliant.

Have a look at the snake battle, it really does seem a bit choppy Smilie I think the spider's movement in general seems a little strange, jagged or something.

    Exactly how spider does move.

I've encountered enough of them in my room. They're not the most graceful - they're like machines.

Hate spiders. That title screen is just ew.

I don't see what people are possibly seeing in this, IGN is ecstatic about it. I don't think I've seen a less interesting looking game.
