Next Main Tales Game for Wii, Tales of Heart Extras

It has emerged that the next main game in the 'Tales of' series will be released on Wii, and that the upcoming DS game Tales of Heart has bonus cut-scene options.

Obtained from this Translated Japanese Famitsu Site, and clarified by GoNintendo, it is stated that the next Tales game, after Tales of Vesperia for the X-Box 360, will make its way to Wii. Nintendo's console is getting a Tales game in the meantime, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, the sequel to the acclaimed Gamecube game, but this promised title will be an all-new entry.

New Information has also emerged on the recently revealed Tales of Heart for the Nintendo DS. Players will be given the choice of viewing Cut-scenes in 2D Anime Art, or CG Animation. It is rumoured that Production I.G, the same company assisting with Wario Land for Wii, will be handling the Anime side of things.
It is unclear whether this subsequent choice would require two versions of the game for retail, or if Namco-Bandai will squeeze it all on one DS Cart.

Awesome news, just seen this elsewhere. It might be a ground up Wii game, as I kind of get the impression the current game may have started as a GC project.

I hope the DS has enough space for both sets of cutscenes....

One day I will be a real life anime.

Keeping my anticipation for Hearts firmly at bay for the moment, considering Innocence never did get a western release.

FFCC:ring of fates on the DS had a few cut scenes and tons of voice acting, which surprised me. So am sure it can all fit Smilie

I guess the DS carts have gotten bigger and we have better compression. Would be nice if Tales had some voice work aswell.

Well DS carts can go up to 256MB, cooking guide is the first one I've seen use that much space!

Fantastic news! Great to see more full-on support on the way Smilie

Hopefully it'll look a lot better/use the Wii's capabilities more effectively as at the moment ToS Wii still seems a little lacking visually.

I guess N-Bandai woke up and smelt the roses at last. Looking back, it was rather foolish of them to give the Symphonia sequel to a second-tier team, and release the new entry of the series on the worst-selling console in the region that the Tales games sell best, but that's just my opinion. I think they can go bigger than that (1GB?), actually, but the bigger they are, the more expensive they are, so it's hard to justify the cost unless the game is going to cost a lot, or the development costs are very low.

Wow that's amazing that they are giving you the option of seeing the cut scenes in two different, artistic styles. I hope the DS title will go state-side.

Well yeah i'm sure they could but the biggest being used at the moment is 256MB, very few games use it aswell.

I origianlly thought they could go bigger as well, but then I remember that there's a subtle difference between "Megabits" (Mb) and "Megabytes" (MB). 256 MB = 2Gb which is indeed the beefiest card DS is compatible with.
