Dead Rising, Wii, Capcom, Xbox 360 Port Recent News
Capcom has finally revealed the next-gen classic it had planned for Wii as being none other than Dead Rising. Most people presumed the planned project would either be Dead Rising or Lost Planet, so they were not far off in their estimations.
According to the latest issue of Famitsu, the game is set to be a port of the original Xbox 360 version, and thanks to cvxfreak of NeoGAF, below are some interview snippets:
Some other information from the interview has now been revealed as well, with one of the main questions being as follows:
Apparently it seems that Capcom is definitely going to be skewing the title far more towards the casual crowd, with the difficulty levels being dropped to allow for greater acceptance. Dead Rising sold nearly 150,000 units on the Xbox 360 in Japan and has topped the 1.5 million mark worldwide so far, meaning it definitely has great potential on Wii if Capcom markets the game sufficiently. Other details lifted from Famitsu so far include how there will be new stages, bosses and items, yet there is some bad news in that the picture taking aspect of the game has now been removed.
What are your thoughts on this revelation, and why did Capcom not show this off at the E3 event instead?

- RE4 Wii sold well so Capcom is porting DR
- As much as possible Capcom will match the 360 look.
- Is taking into mind casual gamers' needs
- Playable w/ Wiimote and nunchuck. There are waggle atacks similar to RE4 Wii.
Some other information from the interview has now been revealed as well, with one of the main questions being as follows:
Famitsu: Being surrounded by tons of zombies was one of a main appeals in the original. Do you feel you'll have to lower the count in the Wii version?
Nakai-san: In the 360 version, you know there are a lot of zombies because the area is filled with them on into the background. This time we're working on a system in which the number of zombies nearby the player will instill a sense of "they'll be there" as they head through.

mOojcThis is gresat news. I enjoyed Dead Rising on 360 so I hope they are still able to keep the core gameplay intact and not stray too much "taking into mind casual gamers' need" and usesless "waggles".

noneThe one game that had me favouring a 360 over a PS3 as a potential second console. Well I guess that means I can happily go PSWii now.
Really looking forward to this. I hope they keep as much of the original features as possible.

I can't believe they're doing this and not porting to the PC too. Would probably take 5 minutes since it's on the same engine as Lost Planet and Devil May Cry 4 and they're both on PC.

S.JAimed more at the DownMarket? That's great news for me, the original version felt too overwhelming when I tried it on 360, and I was planning to have another go sometime, so I'll pick this one up.
Just make sure the text is actually possible to read this time Capcom. Oh, less loading times and more save opportunities as well please.

If you are one of the many complaining about lack of great Wii games, and you don't own Okami, then pipe down and go buy it.

Seriously? Because I think for Wii, with the amount of stuff that's going on at once in Dead Rising, it looks pretty ace.
Looking forward to this. Would probably have preferred a sequel myself, though.
