Smash Bros Rumble Project on DS

A German fan-made project, named Super Smash Bros Rumble for the Nintendo DS, is in the works, with architecture similar to SSB: Brawl.

The creator, calling himself Fuzzy, is making the title using available sprites and stage designs. The project is still at an early stage, but two features, Touch-Screen use, and stages that are two screens high, makes this one quite interesting. A provided preview level of Rumble at an early stage;

This is very promising so far, from the little that I have played. Still needs a lot of work but good so far.

This is a very ambitious fan project! Good on them!

I am going to try it out, you can bet I will post my thoughts, as a self-proclaimed Smash Bros fanatic.

Ultimate stars is as close as your are going to get to a SSB on DS at the moment. That still needs alot of work.

Impressive to be making a DS game, but to be honest there are Flash games that look better than this. Either that or this looks like a Flash game.

Well, the most I can say for it, is that it functions. Legal action can only be days away!

It's barely playable really though. The collision detection, jumping and attacking needs work before he decides to implement the smash balls! I appreciate his efforts though, not all of us can afford to fund huge teams of developers in Osaka.

In response to the question posed by the article, yes, I'd love a Smash Bros DS. Although doubtless it would be different in some way, "Smash Bros Dual Strike!!" or some such, to get the DS in there. Please god, don't make it a tag team game... wait, this is my fictional game, I'll imagine it how I like.

I'll continue my schizoid rant elsewhere. Good day from us both.

I hope Nintendo look at this and see Smash Bros on the DS does have potential, it doesn't have to use both screens, 1 screen cud be used to display players health, lifes and something new like Power Up or something.

I would really love to see Smash Bros DS but I have feeling it will come out on the next nintendo handheld console.

It would be a great game if you didn't have to use the touch screen to play, but you could use it to pick the options. For example, make it like Mario Kart: DS.

Smash Bros. on the DS would be pretty awkward. Reminds me of Smash Flash WAY too much.

It requires great courage to look at oneself honestly, and forge one's own path.

Jump Superstars is great, shame that the difficulty is a bit to easy, although never played the sequel.

I would love to see a Smash DS but that video looked shit to me. lol. Although its not as if i could make that.

It's a good concept but that looks terrible lol.

If they wanted to I'm sure nintendo could make a Smash 64 style game on DS...bawwwww shame the chances of that happening is so slim. Smilie

I got the demo expecting something big, but it kind of lets down... the detecti�n is bad. But its amazing that someone is trying! Keep at it and focus on getting those 2 characters just right so that we can have some decent fights!
