It's Danger on the High Seas, and frantic racing with Pogs and Tires for European gamers this week, as Wiiware receives two more titles.
First up is SPOGS Racing, from Pronto Games, for 1000 Wii Points. This game sees the player racing around 12 tracks in a vehicle called a SPOG which looks like a cross between a tire and a Pog-like disc. The core gameplay allows racers to steal parts from their opponents. There are plans for Downloadable Content, including new tracks.
SPOGS hasn't been favoured across its many reviews, so be wary of this one.
Secondly, Pirates: The Key of Dreams, also at a cost of 1000 Wii Points. This title is a prequel to the upcoming Nintendo DS title Pirates: Duels on the High Seas, made by the same developer, Oxygen Games.
It involves the player, in the role of a Navy captain, searching for the Key of Dreams being held by Blackbeard. The game takes place in an overhead viewpoint, much like classic Playstation game Overboard.
