Mass Effect, Jade Empire & Dragon Age on Nintendo DS?

By Adam Riley 08.08.2008 4

Bioware is busying itself with the completion of the SEGA project 'Sonic Chronicles' for the Nintendo DS and is eager to bring more to the portable. According to Miles Holmes, lead designer on Sonic Chronicles, the team is keen to try bringing the likes of Mass Effect, Jade Empire and Dragon Age to Nintendo's diminuitive platform.

Holmes went on to explain that Sonic Chronicles was an attempt to get Bioware's handheld team off to a flying start and more DS games will support its console games.

"Basically anything that reinforces the franchises. We have a lot of big plans for Mass Effect. Having a DS version would be an awesome way to keep interest alive and keep it going in addition to the next one [Mass Effect 2]. I'll tell you which one I would want. I want the Mass Effect one."

Do you think such games would work well on the DS?

I think it's possible but it'll be very, very different from their console counterparts.

I don't think I could enjoy their games on a portable.

The DS would struggle to make a good mass effect.

-Have you any idea what it's like to be a Fembot living in a Manbot's Manputer's world?
-What?

When they pull the right features out of Mass Effect, it may be possible... Mass Effect itself works on any platform imho.
It would be different, that's right.

I find your lack of faith disturbing!
