Strong Bad Selling More on WiiWare Than PC

Telltale has revealed that the first episode of Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People has been most successful on WiiWare, trouncing sales of the PC edition so far in part thanks to Nintendo and its support of the download service.

"Anything that comes out on WiiWare is going to sell a huge amount because it's a WiiWare title, but comparably both of them are selling really well. We're really happy with the numbers for both. The Wii just has a much bigger audience."
- Emily Morganti, PR Guru, speaking with Joystiq at this year's PAX event.

"Working with Nintendo has been pretty good. All the help that Nintendo's been giving us and allowing us the opportunity to be on WiiWare has been great for our company and great for getting titles like SBCG4AP out there to a new audience who maybe isn't used to adventure games. It's been a great partnership with Nintendo so far."
- Strong Bad director Mark Dorin.

Whilst we all wait for 'Episode 2: Strong Badia the Free', which will be out very soon, be sure to check out Cubed³'s review of the first episode here and be sure to let us know if you have bought the game and your thoughts on it so far...

It was to be expected, considering most of the adverts promoted it as if it were a Wiiware exclusive, and then adding at the end "It's on PC too" or something like that.

May the League of Kings always reign supreme!

It's great that it's doing so well. The market of PC downloadable games is growing at a speedy rate with some very unique innovative games, games that you simply do not find anywhere else. Hopefully the Wii can have the best brought over. It would be great to see more IGF games like Lost Winds and World of Goo, in the future I would love to see more IGF finalists release on Wii Ware.

True enough there are more PCs, but people buy a Wii to play games. They buy a PC to check their email. So, he's saying there are more people who buy this type of game on Wii than there is on PC. Which is still debatable, but perhaps true.

Anyhow, its nice to see it doing well. I really like the concept. Hopefully sales don't tale off for every installment though.

Pretty much this. PC gaming sales have been going down for years while consoles have taken over.

The game is more noticable on WiiWare.
You dont have to already know about it, to see it.
