    Activision recently held a press conference call discussing the futures of some of the publisher's biggest franchises.

    Amongst regular performance announcements, sales information and general company tidbits were some interesting proposals for Guitar Hero and Call of Duty.
  • Songs appearing in Guitar Hero see a 200 to 300% increase in performance within the music market.
  • Guitar Hero releases will be doubled by 2009, aiming to triple by 2010 – includes both retail and digital packages.
  • More developers/teams will be introduced to work on the franchise.
  • Call of Duty 6 is in development and is penned for a release in 2009 – Infinity Ward is the brains behind the latest war shooter.

    More retail for Guitar Hero? I don't fucking understand this. The concept of downloadable content is CLEARLY lost on them. I may be supporting Harmonix and Rockband instead.

    They really should stop milking those two franchises, it's getting annoying!
    COD6 = NO! ENOUGH!
    More Guitar Hero = Stop making new ones, they aren't bringing anything new to the table. USE DLC!!!

    They\'ll probably stop giving CoD numbers soon, and just give it subtitles instead.

    After all, it\'s an unwritten rule that games can NEVER get to \"10\" (Except for a few exceptions I may not be aware of)

    EDIT: And making new Guitar Hero games is the most pointless \"F-off\" to gamers ever. Just bought the latest Guitar Hero? In a few months they\'ll stop supporting it and release a new one.
    One more franchise down the drain...

    I don't understand why you would want either. I enjoyed GHII, but after that the whole concept just got boring and shit. If you want a cool rhythm game, get Vib Ribbon or something.

    They already have, haven't they? The next one's just 'World At War'...

    The amount of Guitar Hero games out now is just ridiculous, they need to slow down before they completely murder the franchise.

    Urgh. Not that I'm against Guitar Hero or similar games, but enough is enough!!

    Just release music packs and offer incentives for getting high scores/finishing parts of the game instead of making new guitars and peripherals.

    World Tour should be the last GH, seeing as it's pretty mush covered almost everything you could want from a rhythym/music game, what with the other instrumests/wifi/song creator-sharer etc. There's no need for another.
