BioWare Has High Hopes for DS After Sonic

Posted by By (jb) 6 Number of reads 36069

BioWare's Greg Zeschuk recently expressed high hopes for continuing to work on Nintendo's handheld.

The studio recently let loose a new way of playing Sonic, combining his classic speed and platform elements with turn-based combat and stat building. So now that Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood is sitting nicely on store shelves it seems that BioWare already has plans and ideas on future DS games.

...we recently released the Sonic handheld game for DS, and we’ve got other DS plans that we’re thinking about these days.

It’s quite a bit of stuff. We’ve a pretty a big plate full of things we’re working on. Across the studio we number probably over 400 people.

BioWare co-founder, Greg Zeschuk

Other details on forthcoming projects can be found on VG247's interview with BioWare.

Adds more credence to the previous mention of Mass Effect on DS. Bound to happen now...

Sonic Chronicles 2 is also being written and all they need is the get go from SEGA (I think)

On a more present note, I desperately need this game!!! >=[

The first one looks awsome from the trailers and the screen shots look really good for a sonic RPG because they have kept the graphics from Sonic Rush. I can't believe that the second game is being written now. They must have very high hopes for this Sonic game because it has never been done before.

Mass Effect on DS would be freaking amazing!

But I'd rather they created a new RPG for the DS and not one that relies on a franchise. Just like an RPG, Bioware style.

Yeah personally I think an original IP is far more likely.
