BBC's iPlayer has been updated with a Wii specific interface for easier and clearer viewing.
Initially the channel brought out their on-demand service with a "keep it simple, get it out fast" approach, making sure the service was available and viewable as quick as possible. For those wanting a bigger, more Wii friendly interface unfortunately a dedicated Channel on the Wii menu isn't around at the moment but a Wii-specific page is accessible using the Internet Channel.
The new Wii version has a simplified user interface that presents just a few options on screen at a time and nice big chunky controls - easy to aim at with a Wiimote.
There's clearer buttons designed to appear nice and bold on television sets, unlike regular sites that would cause viewers to zoom in and out to navigate about. You can check out the bigger view using your regular PC browser, or go to the regular address using the Internet Channel: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer and from there it will automatically display the new version.
