Coming on the 1st January, 2009 in Japan is the first Nintendo DS RPG from Media Vision, the team behind the very popular Wild Arms series of RPGs that have appeared solely on Sony formats thus far. The game is coming courtesy of D3Publisher, meaning it has a very strong chance of being self-published in the West, and goes by the name of RIZ-ZOAWD, which most may well know is a jumbled version of the words 'Wizard' and 'Oz', since proceedings bear a striking resemblence to the Wizard of Oz. How that will affect licensing in the US right now is unknown.
But, whatever the case, the game follows a young girl called 'Dorothy' (surprise surprise!), who simply has her small canine companion 'Toto' for company. She wanders around trying to find eggs in the Kingdom of Oz, being controlled by the user via a large track ball on the touch-screen.
Everything looks extremely tasty right now, so fingers crossed the actual gameplay turns out to be of an equally high quality. Whilst we wait for impressions, the game's official website can be seen here.
