im not really to fussed about it. i think the whole community speak thing is poo. what is this channel anyway, is it some kinda chat room? and will the channel work wid third party mics if and when they r released?

It's a channel that lets you talk to other Wii friends and you can only get the channel using a code included in the Wii Speak official microphone. So if you get a used mic, it'll most likely not work.

I'm pretty sure third party mics won't be able to let you download the channel, so it looks like official or bust.

Shame they don't let you use an adapter and just plug in an ordinary mic/headset.

Channel sounds pretty pointless to me anyway, why go on a Channel to chat with people when you can do it on a game? Hell they should make chat available from the Wii Menu like the mail is. I just don't see the point in loading up a Channel just to chat with people.

they should do it so that whenevr you acess the home menu in any game, you can strike up a conversation with somebody.

Let's be honest. Without the Wii microphone, the channel would be useless anyway, so I don't see what all the complaints are for. As for the comments about using third-party... ahah. Don't be fucking daft, this is Nintendo.

The wii speak channel will be useless anyway.

So whats the deal with games then? Do they have a dedicated voice channel like they do on xbox live or is it talk to freinds only?

The idea of the channel seems extremely pointless, theres barely enough memory as it is and filling it with worth crap like this is not going to help the situation.

AC better be good because to be fair its the only reason to Wii owners would really bother with Wii Speak, yes I know there are other online games that demand voice chat but if its not going to be chat to everyone then its going to be shit.

The idea is pretty crap because if you want to talk to your friends you ca do it over MSN for free. The only game i might get the mic for is animal crossing. Also it is another money making scheme by Nintendo.

I don't think that's a good example, since all my Wii friends who I talk to on the phone live long distant. So with this we can speak longer without worry of the phone bill. Not to mention there are a few people from Cubed3 who I wouldn't mind chatting with, but who knows maybe we don't wanna here each others voices;-

I still think the everybody votes channel is the most pointless



It's not like you have to download it. Why are you complaining about the memory if your not going to download the channel anyway

I'm still wanting to hear how The Conduit is going use WS. Although I don't understand how not chatting to everyone is shit, I fucking hate dirty mouth preteens(that was my main experience with my friend's 360). So If I have to choose who I can speak to no prob



WTF... If that's the case then why would people use voice chat for anything. Even with the 360's AAA games without a headset their online becomes bland and nothing special.
