FFCC: Echoes of Time, Wii/DS Scans on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The latest Shonen Jump and Famitsu magazines are full of new screens from the upcoming Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.

Echoes of Time is Square-Enix's Wii and DS collaboration, bringing back classic FF:Crystal Chronicles action and using the wireless link to play on both consoles. Those wanting the more mature Final Fantasy on Wii can rest assured as the company has reconfirmed that it's still on the way.

Find it weird how the Wii version didn't have a little bit extra effort put into it, but good to see the option to play together nontheless.

All seems a bit strange to me, but I'll reserve full judgement for when the game comes out and I know exactly how it all works.

I said that too, but I figure that they are probably putting more effort into the WiFi gameplay this time around; and if they go to make a new game in the series with Wii & DS collaboration in mind, then maybe they will make the Wii game look more like a Wii game and not a DS rip. That's why I figure this new game has WiFi support as well as Wii collaboration and the first one didn't.

This is just the sequel to FFCC: Ring of Fates on DS, which was a really good game, so I don't know why some think this improved version will actually be worse.

And all S-E has done is stick Wii connectivity in to cash-in and potentially expand the FF audience onto Wii before releasing Crystal Bearers (that's my take on the situation, anyway).

I thought all the scans were just the DS version at first.

I\'m not bothered about the Wii version, unless the info on the connectivity is expanded and it suddenly starts to sound awesome.

But you know what I\'m confused about? How can a game focused on multiplayer have a main character? (Charlotta)

Maybe have a single player mode with a story like the first one and a mode with the story ripped out for multiplayer?

It's possible, and I hope so, but from what I've heard thia one truly focuses on multiplayer, with the singleplayer game being just like the multiplayer... (So more like the GC game)

But I definitely don't know enough about this.

*Fixed*

From the scans this looks like they've actually improved on the graphics in Ring of Fates. I'm VERY impressed with what S-E has been churning out on DS so far!
