Dragon Quest Back on the GBA...
...Slib the Slime Takes Centre Stage!

Square Enix of Japan announced in the latest issue of publication JUMP magazine that it plans to release a brand new update in the extremely popular Dragon Quest franchise. The official title for the game will be Slime Mori Mori Dragon Quest: Shougeki no Shippodan, with the delectable Slime as the main character for the first time. As many long-term Enix fans will know, the gelatinous Dragon Quest mascot is definitely a form of comedy relief, so it is hoped that the new game will continue in this light-humoured fashion. Gameboy Advance players must use the polymorphic abilities to solve puzzles and defeat enemies.

The upcoming Tokyo Game Show should shed some more light on this intriguing title and more screenshots will certainly follow along with firm release data. Whether this title will make the transition to either Europe or the US is presently unknown - and since Dragon Quest Monsters 3: Caravan Heart has yet to be scheduled for the US, do not hold your breath just yet...

Whatever the case, to appease those interested in the title anyway, below we have the first official screenshot of the game, plus a scan from JUMP magazine itself (click to enlarge):

Crazy, colourful antics ahoy!

Thanks to JUMP for the scan
