It looks like piracy is back on for the DSi, with a compatible device allowing gamers to play downloaded titles.
The slimmer, featured-packed DS revision has had improvements in security to lock out existing flash carts from the system. Days after release hackers had already found workarounds for Nintendo's protection. Now it seems that compatible cartridges are appearing at retail, one known as Acekard 2i according to MCV. These allow downloaded roms and homebrew to run on the system, despite protection in place.
This may have future problems with the DSi having firmware upgrades, and as such may block these new additions to the homebrew scene.

People need to stop bothering with anti-piracy mechanics because there is no stopping it no matter what.

I think I heard that copied ROM's can't be played online due to the new piracy checks, so it's not all bad. With the DSi promising more online interaction, having no online play will annoy lots of people buying these new pirate carts.

Nah. only on the ds/lite. The DSi has bloked all of them including supercard TT, R4, cyclo, Edge ect ect
