Phantasy Star Zero DS Information, Ads on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

This week's Famitsu magazine has a 2 page preview for Phantasy Star Zero with lots of new information.

  • Players will be able to select multiple difficulties, including hard and super-hard mode at the quest counter. Monsters will be tougher, but will drop rarer items.
  • Difficulty modes can also be selected when playing with friends.
  • Character creation returns, 14 types in all. Same character used in all modes (story, local, wifi).
  • Animation by Gonzo
  • Visual chat, automatic FC exchange in wireless play, item trading allowed.
  • Automatic matches, friend matches and item exchanges online.
  • Pre-made, bilingual messages available to use.
  • Multiplayer quests can be played solo - challenging.
    • Races
  • Humans - balanced, manage most jobs well.
  • Androids - can set traps and recover HP automatically.
  • Newmans - forgotten race left behind on the moon. Good at techniques, with photon points (to perform these) rejuvenated automatically.
    • Story Mode
  • Sarisa and Kai are your allies - Kai is the bigger brother that your character and Sarisa relies on.

    • The game will be released on December 25th 2008 in Japan for 5040 yen.

    Looking good - love the detail, animations. Great graphics for DS, and it looks like the gameplay is a little more varied over past PSOs.
