    Rumour: Pilotwings Returning on Wii?

Pilotwings may see a long-awaited return to the living room with Balance Board and Mii support, according to rumours.

According to an unconfirmed report, the much wanted Pilotwings will be soaring onto the system sometime in the first half of 2009, complete with support for the balance board alongside Mii use.

The last time we saw an entry in the series was with Pilotwings 64, an airborne action-packed launched title for the company's chunky black box over a decade ago. Nintendo already showed snippets of an interest Wii-remote based flying demo back in 2006, so if there's truth in this it could be a likely one.

I can definitely see it happening - and sometime in 2009 too.

This added to the fact that a new Pilotwings WAS in developpment for the gameCube but eventually cancelled and said to be coming for their then "next gen console". I had already wondered a few times as to "where this game has gone" and now comes what seems to be my answer ^^. Can't wait for it to be confirmed by Nintendo and see what it looks like (if this rumor is to e believed that is).

Wow, if this turns up, and turns out great, the Wii is definately going to have a good year in 2009. Hope it does get confirmed.

Now all we need is other franchises to be confirmed aswell.

    F-Zero
    Kirby,
    Starfox
    Kid Icarus
    Etc.

Oh, PUH-LEASE let this be true!! Smilie I\'ve been aching for a new Pilotwings game since Pilotwings 64 launched over 10 years ago. lol

After my hopes were brutally dashed when Ninty\'s deal with Factor 5 fell through, I wasn\'t sure if they\'d revive the franchise at all. Wii is perfect for Pilotwings. ;-Smilie

...and for the record, I need my StarFox fix, my F-Zero fix, my Excitebike fix, my Waverace fix, my 1080 fix, my Kid Icarus fix, my Mario Paint fix, etc., etc... Smilie ;-Smilie

i remember that 2006 demo, where you held the remote like a toy plane. i thought that was cool. imagine playing starfox with those controls and wii m+ attached

if pilotwings does happen, i'll be buying it

That makes a lot of sense - it's probably this or F-Zero methinks!
