Square Enix have released a handful of new screens from the upcoming installment of Dragon Quest for DS.

The game recently topped Famitsu's most wanted list, beating the likes of Final Fantasy
XIII, Monster Hunter 3 and RE5 for most desired reader title.

Famitsu's Editor-in-Chief has made his predictions for Dragon Quest's launch in March, with the DS-exclusive entry set to sell around 4 to 5 million at launch.

March [DQIX's launch month] will be bigger than the year-end sales war. Even side-stories (such as Dragon Quest Monsters) have sold a million copies, and the previous title in the series (DQVIII) sold 3 million plus. It [DQIX] should be expected to sell from 4 million to 5 million copies.

It most likely will sell millions, but the voters in Famitsu are sooo not representative of the Japanese gaming community - I mean there's 6 PS3 games on the list and there are only like 8 PS3 owners in the whole of Japan...

Despite PS3 games doing so well and 360 doing so badly? D:

This game is gonna be huge in Japan though, I'm pretty sure DQ is more popular than FF a lot of the time, and as a main series DQ game on one of the world's most popular consoles, there will be implosions and SFX everywhere on launch day.

One day I will be a real life anime.

The main DQ entries are normally VERY front-loaded, but DS games have shown great legs for certain RPGs, so it'll be very interesting to see what happens.

Five million is definitely not out of the question...
