Support Grows for n-Space's Winter

Support Grows for n-Space

n-Space's Dan O'Leary recently discussed Winter, and the possibility of pushing it forward in the future.

Winter is a survival/action game concept developed by n-Space around two years ago and wasn't able to pick up a publisher back then. Recent efforts have been positive - a petition has picked up a lot of gamer interest (over 14,000 at time of writing), causing publishers to take another look.

The interest in and support of Winter has been amazing to witness. The whole thing has meant a lot to the team. The internet is so full of haters that it's really refreshing to see all the positive response and the petition is quite amazing in itself.

We have had some new and revived interest from publishers for the title, but it's not something we've aggressively pursued just yet. n-Space is currently in the midst of closing three titles - 7 skus plus localizations - so we're pretty swamped right now. We'll start some more aggressive follow-up in the near future. I suspect we will have some interesting conversations.

As for the petition, be sure to sign if interested.

Would you be interested in the game if it were taken forward and developed for Wii?

It looked very nice for being so early in development -- I especially liked that it looked like they were pushing a \"use everything you can get your hands on\" approach. I\'m definitely interested, and I hope they get a publisher. Petition signed.

Still, if they don\'t have time to really work on the game, it seems weird that they\'d pick this time to release it to IGN. Get publisher interest and then tell them you\'re too busy right now?

Excellent. Hope they really work hard to get this out.

i hate to see this game go away in the night

First they complain like cryin' babies that their oh so beautiful game is not getting the interest it deserves, that it's unfair, that only casual games sell on the Wii. The game wasn't developped further than just a demo.

And now that they have caught publishers' interest, they push it back because they're too busy on other projects ?!?!

Know how i feel about all that stuff ? Like they planned this from the beginning, seems like a very very cunning way to get a publisher and make their game being talked about in the world of gaming and catching interest from everyone. If it really is the case, then it's ... rather disgusting.

It's like selling your stuff on a site like eBay; You can place an ad now, but it really doesn't mean people will instantly buy it.

I think they just underestimated people's taste in games these days after nobody was willing to pick it up to begin with.

I hope they really push publisher interest soon, while it's still hot!
