E3 2009 Date, Location and Details on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

New details have arisen for the 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo, with a definite improvement over the last two shows.

The group in charge of what was once the Gaming Industry's most prolific event of the year, the Entertainment Software Association, have given a date and destination for 2009's show; on June 2nd, 3rd and 4th, at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

In addition, although the event won't be open to the general public as previously rumoured, there will be a broader range of industry members allowed access, as well as non-ESA member organizations. Generally, booth sizes will be much bigger than in the last two years.

The E3 Expo will be the pre-eminent North American gaming show next year. The new, larger event is better for industry leaders and for serious gamers. - John Riccitiello, CEO of Electronic Arts

The video game business will be twice as big in 2009 as it was in 2006 when we had the last real E3 Expo - so get ready for some fireworks! - Laurent Detoc, president of Ubisoft North America

A list of the Publishers due to attend E3 has been revealed, although is subject to change. (spoilered for size)

Could these changes help restore E3 to its former glory?

Hopefully they can recapture the old magic. E3 used to be a pretty awesome time of year.

Sounds good. Didn't it used to be in May?

I hope so, but no matter how big/babe-filled it gets, t'will always be bout the games. GAMES Nintendo, you hear? GAMES.

To Nintendo, E3 is all about Powerpoint presentations and graphs. Smilie

Darn-it.
Bugger.
I hoped E3 would wither and die.

Game news should come when companys are ready, not held-back for special events like E3.
-sigh-

So is Microsoft and Sony. More rubbish about a ten year paln Smilie .

Hopefully it will be good but I seriously doubt it.

This year they should bring REAL DOGS to the show. That'd be cool.

I agree. Although I do think that Sony are the worst for just spouting absolute garbage rhetoric at their conferences. Didn't Kaz Hirai even say recently something along the lines of "We like to think that we are the market leaders", even though at the moment the PS3 is lagging behind the 360 by quite a long way, which makes Hirai's statement particularly hilarious, since the 360 is lagging way behind the Wii?

Thats true, he said lots of arrogant comments there, not just that one;

I mean, where do you start?

I think this is a good one for showing how freck-up Sony's thinking is;

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do

-_-

But the comment against microsoft is just as arrogant.
For all they know the 360 might last longer then the PS3.

Haha, not if MS jump the gun again and put the 360 to sleep early, like they did with the original Xbox. Xbox 720 at this year's E3, anyone? SmilieSmilie

Sounds good! I have missed the old e3, a time where I would look forward to the event but recent years it has been pretty boring and poor.

WOW that would be a shocker and thinking about it, I almost wouldn't put it past $Mircosoft.
