Rumour: Fatal Frame IV Heading to US, Renamed? on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The Wii exclusive Fatal Frame may be heading to the US under a different branding, according to rumours.

According to GoNintendo, there's talk of the Tecmo/Grasshopper collaboration leaving Japan, but not following the US franchise name of Fatal Frame. The likely option would the Tecmo's decision to continue the franchise using the European/Japanese series title "Zero/Project Zero".

With the previous three games released globally, it's highly likely that there's truth to this rumour and survival horror fans in the US can grab their fix on Wii sometime this year or the next.

This is supposed to be out here this Friday under the Fatal Frame guise. The only place that seems to have it listed, however, is play.com, so I doubt it is actually out.

project Zero is the name the series has beared since its first installment in Europe.

I don't know why it was named Project Zero, but since it's the Japanese name (says jb), it's better then Fatal Frame. I don't like 'Fatal Frame' very much, it's a bit lurid...

And with a global name confusion may be stopped...

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

It may have had to be renamed in the US because the trademark "Project Zero" was already owned by someone else. Y'know, like the Starfox series in Europe (Starfox > Starwing / Starfox 64 > Lylat Wars) until the trademark wwas not owned anymore by its former owner and Nintendo could start naming Starfox games... well... "Starfox"... In Europe, like in the rest of the world.
