Crystal Defenders - Episodic on Wiiware on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Crystal Guardians, being released on Wiiware, PSN and XBOX Live Arcade as Crystal Defenders, will be seeing an Episodic release for Wiiware; most likely in 3 installments. These installments will be titled R1, R2 and probably R3, wheras the original mobile phone release had the titles W1, W2, W3.

It has also been revealed that there are slight changes from the original Phone version, in that some party members will join you in earlier Episodes than they were seen in the original; for example, the Fencer who joined in W3 of the mobile game joins in R2 of Defenders.

Each Episode will cost 1000 Nintendo Points on the Wii Shop Channel, and the first Episode is release in Japan later this month with international release being inevitable. While the Wiiware release is quite a few months ahead of the currently TBC XBOX Live Arcade and PSN releases, non-Nintendo fans will get a release of all 3 Episodes in one game. Whether this will affect the price of these other releases is currently unknown; but stick to C3 for more. In the meantime, discuss your thoughts of the different versions below.

3000 Wii points (£21) is about 2400 Microsoft Points.

I can\'t really see Square selling the game for that much on XboxLive so Wii owners could be getting an unfair deal in this.

Also, I think I read somewhere that the Xbox and PS3 versions are gonna be enhanced rather than a port with slight alterations like the WiiWare release. Smilie

Yeah I think I heard that somewhere too, but details on what exactly is missing from the Wiiware version are slim.

The Wiiware version "is for beginners" apparantly. *bigsigh*

I think it\'s the first episode thats for beginers with the last episode having all units and more advanced maps and such.

Game looks shit anyway.

I seem to recall that R1-R3 on Wiiware are different than W1-W3 (to be released on PS3/360) in that they have other types of units and new levels.

PS3-360 owners will get a direct port (with ugly frames around the screen) and Wii owners get new levels.

Fuck off Square with your retarded overpriced DLC.
