C3 Podcast Special: Interview With Headstrong Games on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

We've been covering a SEGA event from last week recently.  So far we've had previews of The Conduit and Madworld and a review of The House of the Dead: Overkill.  Now it's time to finish up our coverage, and what better way to do that than by taking out two birds with one stone? You get one of our exclusive interviews in full audio glory and a new (sort of) edition of the podcast to boot.

Headstrong Games, developers of The House of the Dead: Overkill, were happy to answer the questions posed by Cubed3's Mike Mason, British Gaming Blog's Mark Brown and N-Europe's Ashley Jones.  The lucky, lucky guys to be questioned were Neil McEwen, producer of Overkill; Mark Slater, lead artist; Jonathan Burroughs, writer and lead designer; and last, but certainly not least, Gwilym Hughes, producer of Overkill on SEGA's side.  An absolutely massive thanks goes out to all of the above, and a special thanks to the PR team at SEGA for making it all happen.

Without further delay, stick on the kettle, go for a jog, do whatever you do while listening to the podcast.  More importantly, enjoy.  Give us feedback too, we like that.  You even get it in two different formats.  Right click and save as away...

- C3 Podcast Episode 17: Headstrong Interview Special (MP3, 33.7mb, 29m 29s)

Thanks again to all involved.  Keep your eyes on C3 for more exclusive interviews and hopefully more podcasts, too.

Woo, podcast goodness. Top interview Mike Smilie

Trying to think of a witty signature after 'Hacker-gate'...

Virtua Cop: DO IT NOW!!!!

Come on, just how much convincing does SEGA need? HotD: Overkill has already stormed the UK charts, and from all the positive Press it's been getting, I would be stunned if sales aren't high elsewhere around the world.

They mention a couple of times through the interview that they have a strong game engine now set-up. There is no way in hell they're just going to let such a finely tuned engine go to waste. Either there will be another HotD (perhaps a remake of the first?), or something else...namely Virtua Cop!

Virtual Cop would be bloomin' amazing, and would be interesting to see Headstrong's take on the franchise, or a completely new on-rails franchise entirely.

Good podcast stuff Mr Mike, loads of great stuff discussed.

British devs for the win!
