What Do You Want To Ask High Voltage on the Conduit?

Next week we'll be talking to High Voltage on the studio's slick Wii-exclusive shooter, The Conduit.

The Conduit is a first person sci-fi shooter that focuses on the invasion of alien race "the Drudge", and agent Mr. Ford as he's sent out to overcome the deadly creatures and save the human race...

We want your input! What aspects of the game would you like to know more about? Perhaps you're curious about how the Wii controls work over a traditional shooter, how the studio are dealing with online? What's the story like?

Please post your ideas and questions in the comments section below. We'll be selecting some of the best to pass on to the team next week. Thanks!

    Online!

    How about:

How many maps will there be online?

Are Nintendo/Sega helping the team get the online modes running as fast as possible?

and What made the team choose the Art direction taken?

Good Questions Stulaw, My question is are there any special multiplayer modes other than like team deathmatch and ctf. And is there any difference in gameplay when playing as the drudge or human in multiplayer play (other than different wepons)

You dropped wii motion plus citing it didn't improve the onscreen reticule. Did the team think about incorporating mellee weaponary for close combat. Or was it too late down the development line.

How does Nintendo handle the new peripheral with regards to lending it out to developers. Do they leave you to it or do they spend some time showing how to best use it.

With motionplus now available to developers. Does your team have any ideas to use it for future titles. Like a slasher zombie game for example.

A bit focused one topic but try and drop these questions in.

I know this is a very specific and for most of you irrelevant question but I'd like to know if the AMERICAN version will have Spanish voice-over or at least subtitles. Unlike in Spain, here in Latin America this is a very inconsistent matter, as publishers usually think we don't exist, or that we should understand badly spoken English. I hope that's not the case with The Conduit as it's looking awesome.

I got a good question, If they utilize the wii-mote's speaker will it be in the same way as Red Steel? Or have they found a more intuitive use for it?

While online, will Wii-Speak be available to use in matches with anyone or is it set for friend matches only?

How many hours of playtime does the campaign have?

Will there be any Co-Op available online/offline?

All the questions before mine are great aswellSmilie

What are your expectations for the game, sales wise. How are you advertising the title. And will poor sales see you shift developement to Xbox & PS3.

Tell them to release Animales De La Muerte as a WiiWare title instead of a retail. Even if they have to drop music quality for that.

But ok, The Conduit... Ask them about the lack of offline multiplayer. It was one of the biggest selling point of games like Perfect Dark and Time Splitters 2.

    IMPORTANT QUESTIONS:

#1 Will the Conduit Online Mutliplayer feature more than at least 5 maps and just how big are they anyway?

#2 Your Engine for making the Conduit is awesome but it would be a waste for just making the Conduit. Can i expect more exclusive games for Wii from you?

#3 Are there melee attacks in the Conduit?

#4 Is there room for even better graphics on Wii? If you do make any other games, will there be a way to push the hardware even more? (not that i care, just asking out of curiosity)

#5 And above all else....with which other, already in existence, shooter game would you say The Conduit is similar to?

Now answer me you infidels Smilie

One thing I don't completely get whether the wiimote would be utilized or not and how? I mean, I understand "point and shoot" but what about moving around?

Pretty much used to point and shoot, and possibly some gesture action in there too - but the main movement is through the nunchuck

I\'m sure you\'ve anticipated that many people will say (and already have said), \"The only thing that makes this game special is that it\'s on the Wii. First-person shooters come out on the other consoles all the time.\" What\'s your response to that? If someone has more than one current-gen console, why should they be interested in The Conduit? In other words, what makes The Conduit different from the dozens of other shooters on the market right now?

Because Wii controlls absolutely ownz dual-analogue for FPS?
    Most obvious answer, imho.

Aiming in Metroid Corruption was both faster and much more accurate then, say, Halo or Killzone.

Darkflame. I hope that isnt the only reason. It has to be interesting, have a good story. Halo, half life, they are respected for more then being pretty for their time. they had interesting game mechanics or a good story. There is more to gaming then controls and graphics.
This generation seems a little lost in those regards. especially on the wii.

You say that, but then 90% of FPS really dont have a good story at all, they pretty much are just pretty graphics+blasting things.
(Half Life is the notible exception here.)
But really, Gears of War? KillZone? Crysis? Doom? none of these games have great storys, acting or even good imaginative enviroments.
Even Halo's story isnt that great. Fantastic setting, sure. Epic production values? certainly. But story..meh.
Likewise, gameplay mechcanics most FPS arnt inventive at all.
Heck, we havnt moved forward much since Golden Eye if all we are talking about is regenerative shields and the odd vechile section.

I dont think Conduit should get the blame for not reinventing the genre when no one else is doing it either.

I'm hoping the medieval fantasy PC FPS "Project Offset" helps put some life into the genre, or Maybe half life 3 might make Portal-mechcanics mixed with a traditional FPS. Theres certainly some potential interesting things on the horison, but frankly I think the whole genre's a bit "meh" all around.

    Questions:
Will I be able to add random players I'm playing matches with to my Friend Code list? Example: I log online to play a couple of matches. I play five matches and during those five matches I play with some random guy named "TheConduitROCKS": Will I be able to add "TheConduitROCKS" to my friend code list from the online menu without knowing his friend code? Or is the only way to add him is by actually knowing his friend code?

I think the answer to that will be no, but that system would work far better than the current system that Nintendo has.

Yes that is very true, but the images on the screen and how you manipulate them is what really makes a game an actually game. Most of the time a games biggest positive usually boils down to control on any platform, and in the Wii's case controls are it's main selling point.

    I have another question:

Will they be giving away special "The Conduit" swag for preordering/reserving the game?Smilie

Well yeah, that's pretty much what I think myself, but I'd really like to see their answer to this question. I'm kind of playing devil's advocate here - not because I'm not enthusiastic about the game, but because I want it to be the best game possible, and I want it to impact the market so that more serious FPS games show up on Wii.

I'm glad you asked this question, because I was coming back to ask it.
Another question(s) in regards to the online multiplayer I have is:
Will Sega or HVS have competitions online?
Is HVS planning on adding new multiplayer levels via DLC in the future? Or is this something the Wii isn't capable of?
Like peterom11 asked: Will there be leader boards and stat tracking like in COD:WaW?

Please don\'t ask this question, it\'s already been asked and answered: \"
The team took inspiration for the game from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Medal Of Honour: Heroes 2 on the Wii, alongside the Halo series on Microsoft\'s Xbox and Rare\'s GoldenEye and Perfect Dark.\"
    http://www.digitalspy.com/gaming/a149330/interview-the-conduit.html

Another question: HVS, in many interviews in the past, representatives have stated that The Conduit is the best looking Wii game graphically speaking \"in our opinion\". Does The Conduit look as good or better as Metroid Prime 3 or perhaps Halo 2 for a point of reference?
