MotionPlus May Ship Inside a Jonny

Rumours from GDC this week suggest that Nintendo are considering shipping the MotionPlus device inside a Wii Remote jacket.

According to IGN, the idea came up several times whereby the add-on motion sensor would be stuck inside a jacket, essentially forcing players to use protection, funnily enough for that extra level of sensitivity. It's likely that it's a case of miscommunication, where what's really meant is that Nintendo would ship the device with a spare jacket (as it would need to be somewhat bigger than the standard ones).

If you can't take it out of the jacket, I'd be super pissed, I mean really. Let a user do what ever the hell he wants to do. Smilie

If it came with one of those Wiimote hoodies, I'd go and just cut as much off as possible to just have the part on it's own.
I put them on during the winter but now it's spring in America so they're naked now.

Doubt it. The Grip points on the unit wouldn't be able to attach to the Remote if there is rubber covering them, and if there isn't, it could easily be cut off. A full, Remote+Motionplus-covering jacket seems the most likely course of action.

i bet the only reason this article exsists is because of the temptation of stuffing as many sexual inuendos into it as possible.

which is the same reason why this game exsists http://www.halolz.com/index.php?s=innuendo.
Although that does it a lot better.

Surely you don't need protection if you're playing solo though?

You may get a sharp knife and cut it out - but you are right: it would be evil. But I doubt it, as what IGN said seems plausible.

It seems natural that they would make jackets to house the device, and that the device will ship with them.

I'm sure that the device will be able to be taken out, it'll make Motion plus difficult to be put on the Wiimote in the first place.

Plus I don't need protection, unless my girlfriend's round my house, don't want any miss-haps.

I now like the feel of the jacket on the Wiimote. It feels really weird when I play without it.

This is just a case of bad understanding. What was said is that IF Wii Motion + is sold separately then it would include a longer Wii Mote Jacket to accomodate the size of the Wii Mote and Motion +.
