Taito/Nintendo have presented new information and video clips from Wii action game, Takt of Magic, on the official site.

The spiritual successor to Lost Magic, Takt of Magic sees players drawing magical runes with the Wii Remote. It's in development by Taito (who also produced Lost Magic), with help from Nintendo, due out on May 21st 2009.

Characters:

  • Orwell - 17 year old who lost his memory when he was 12.
  • Charlotte - 17 year old girl who was raised as a sibling to Orwell.
  • Samuel - leader of a tribe, renown for his bow/arrow skills.
  • Wilco - the rebellious one
  • Sorty - Girl with a big sword.
  • Mr Rober - Magic user
  • Players are presented with a map overview prior to battle, then can choose up to 4 characters from your party to enter and do battle with. Magic is separated into 4 main elements - Water, Earth, Fire, Wind and these are mixed up to form over 100 different combinations.

    Also - Siliconera are reporting that the game has Wi-Fi support for up to 2 players, bringing a little virtual co-op to players across Japan.

    When all is bad don't look for a easy way out. Because you wont know what to do once your out

    I think this RTS-RPG for budding Wizards look pretty cool in concept, but I on't like the graphic style used very much. Great idea though.

    Does look a little packed in/weird to handle but a neat idea - definitely want to see how this turns out

    Not bad. Seems like it wouldn't be as fun to play on the Wii as the DS, but I'll remain optimistic about it.
