Two More Crystal Bearers Videos on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Square Enix has revealed two more videos from the quirky Wii-exclusive RPG, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers.

The two videos are the penultimate pair before the final update on the official Japanese website - a big trailer to come? In these two clips we have our Clavat protagonist being chased by ladies, and doing his own chasing by riding around on a chocobo.

Looking good, not too fond of the grassy areas with Zelda-style poor textures, but it's looking good still - can't wait for a bigger trailer!

I'm loving the random-ness of these teasers...makes a change from the usual trailers.

I think the frame-rate in the Chocobo video looks pretty locked down. Earlier videos have seemed framey to me, I don't understand why SE would release videos like that. Anyway, when the games done it should look fine.

I'm liking these short videos they are releasing, but what kind of game is this? Is it a Zelda-esque type game (action RPG), or is more in line with a mainstream Final Fantasy game?

I didn't like the Crystal Chronicles Gamecube game so as much as I like what I've seen of this one, I definitely want some more details.

Definitely closer to Zelda than mainstream FF, this probably couldn't be further from turn based battles. Also the amount of freedom you seemingly have, it's probably better compared with Okami than Zelda, 'cos of the gravity powers 'n' all.

Smiliethat seems weird, can anyone tell me why the hell the rock exploded in the 2nd vidSmilie?

I'm kinda bobbing back in fourth on this one, In one hand you have this massive world which looks very interesting including the gravity powers which remind me of the impure areas from the GC version. On the other hand My friends and I really enjoyed the GC versions Multiplayer, even when we were arguing about who has to hold the bucket(in which we just settled on the one with the map holds the bucket).

IDk maybe I'm just a bit bummed about there being a lack of multiplayer and not being able to choose your Race & Class/Job, but I'm still looking forward to it's finish product. It might just be because of the strange vidsSmilie

I kinda doubt that this will be completely lacking CoOp... CoOp is the reason FFCC exists o.o

Even if the CoOp is very basic like in Ring of Fates, it'd still be great fun.

Nah single player, good story, cut scenes wash away all that rubbish from the older games please Smilie

I can't wait to see what all you can do as far as abilites go, and since it's looking like a single player game mostly, will there be a team you control or just this hero guy?

Looking good so far, I wanna see what the battles are like, most likely like old style CC games where you run around and slash Smilie

Co-Op was the only thing that made the last game playable.

This looks more diverse, and thus more palletable solo, but it would still be a mistake not to have coop.

This is looking a lot like Final Fantasy XII to me...not that that's a bad thing.

Yeah, but wasn't the last game more aimed toward coop anyway? Which is why they had the GBA link system so well done. The solo mode just felt like an after thought to me. I'm most likely wrong about solo being an after thought but that's not my point.

Well I remember hearing somewhere that this FFCC title is a Solo game, but if it turns out not to be I'll definitely be even more excited. But if it is coop I want it to be online since all my close gaming partners have moved so far awaySmilie. I really hope it's in thereSmilie

The same reason it explodes when Link throws one: to get extras!

And yes, I love the randomness of the trailers, too! It's hilarious and great...
I think this will be a Zelda like experience - which would be great... I have high hopes for this game. Glad it develops in this direction...

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

The website now has a wallpaper available which shows a new logo for the game. Quite an ugly one too.
