Sega to Tap into the Wii Mainstream on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Sega/Prope's utterly bizarre Wii concept, Let's Tap, will be arriving in the UK and the publisher feel it can do well in the mass-market.

According to CasualGaming.biz, the game will be released outside Japan this summer and Sega are expecting it to do well given the completely unique way of playing. For those who haven't seen Let's Tap in action, it's exactly as it says on the box - tap, tap, tap away at a table/solid surface and the Wii remote picks up your rhythm and reflects this on screen.

Let's Tap has an exceptional minimalistic game design that allows anyone to play. The tap-controlled mini games begin at an easy entry level and gain complexity as you move through the various gaming modes. The innovative design has removed any barriers to entry and with the multiplayer aspects too, this game really does have a universal appeal.

A high proportion of our campaign will be focused towards family, housewives and kids and educating consumers to this unique proposition. We will be packaging the game with two tap boxes included (pictured) to encourage the multiplayer aspect of the game.

The game is unique to the market, expectations are that it will be received by consumers with the same enthusiasm as that of the press. The game has reviewed extremely well and was also named 'Best Nintendo Wii' title at last year's Tokyo Game Show.

After madworld and HOTD im more then happy that sega are working on a more casual title. Not only that, it truly has something different to say and do.

If the complexity of the title through progression isnt non existant or watered down then Im happy to get on board.

These titles are good if they bother to engage new and old consumers (through gameplay) something Wii music fails pitifully to do

Been following this game for a while now, it looks pretty cool. Certainly a nice new innovative use of the Wii-mote. It does seem a bit limiting and simplistic at times though. Still, great news its coming to Europe!

Trying to think of a witty signature after 'Hacker-gate'...

Madworld has completely passed me by, I couldn't tell you what it's about if my life depended on it, so I can't praise Sega's effort for it, however, HOTD is a fantastic game, and M&S@TOG looks AMAZIN, so fingers crossed it'll be great

Sounds more like a wiiware title
