Amazon to Stock WiiWare Releases on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Leading online retailer Amazon has begun to add WiiWare games as gifting/codes - the first of which is World of Goo.

The game's available for $14.99 - and it's likely other WiiWare titles will follow a similar pricing scheme.

Do you think this is a good idea? What WiiWare titles would you like to see join the service?

Thanks to Linkyshinks for the tip.

I think it is a good idea, especially to secure sales from more casual gamers who might not know how to work the Wii Shop Channel and Wii Points.

It also makes gifting WiiWare games much easier, especially by those who do not have a Wii.

I wonder if there will eventually be a WiiWare or Wii Shop Channel store on Amazon, like the Xbox Live store, once more games are added.

More opportunity for gamers to buy a game can\'t really be a bad thing. Plus, you save a penny and a penny saved is a penny earned. Smilie

My feelings exactly

This means you are now able to gift people in the US, if you are based in Europe. The Wii currently does not allow you to send gifts beyond regions. *fail*

I would happily pay a little more to send a game to the US.

Hopefully Amazon UK will follow suit.

Any kind of added functionality like this is a good thing, now we just need it to stock every release, as well as Virtual Console. It makes a service some may find off putting easier to use through a respected retail website, plus, there is a possibility of discounts Smilie

Add me on anything. I'm always looking for new friends/opponents/town visitors/chances to appear more popular than I actually am.
