Kingdom Hearts 3 Definitely Coming on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Square Enix's producers have revealed that Kingdom Heart's 3 will definitely appear in some form or another.

Speaking in the latest edition of Nintendo Dream, series creators Hasegawa-san and Nomura-San revealed that there will definitely be a next installment in the popular Kingdom Hearts line.

ND: Hasegawa-san, Nomura-san, you created the series together. Is there ever the feeling that there won't be a next installment?

Hasegawa: There surely will be. I really can't think of any reason why not, if everyone's heated support continues. When it is said "Nomura will do III", I can't say we haven't thought of anything.

Definitely, I believe Nomura said at one point that the 3 new KH titles will lead into something big for the next main installment.

Also, Coded has nothing to do with the real Sora; so what is that "cliffhanger" at the end of KHII?

Nevermind then. I would have made a comment similar to yours a couple of years ago, and now that I\'ve played it it\'s one of my favourite series.

Not to mention that the story is in-depth and expansive. If the series was discontinued for any reason, the fanbase would probably react in a way similar to that of Shenmue fans, because the story has yet to be concluded.

Why are they making a third KH? There\'s your answer. Oh; and the game has a lot of fans that love it lots too.

I wish they would have not gone the Final Fantasy VII route with all the spin-offs. They should have just stuck with 1 spin-off like what they did with Chain of Memories and then focus on the next game.

To be fair though, they\'re not really spin offs. They\'re mostly bridges and they have the same gameplay, the only difference is the playable characters, and the name of the game itself. Anyone who played KHII without playing CoM first would wonder how Sora got in that state, wouldn\'t they? CoM is just as important to the series as any other game.

Nomura didn\'t want to bring out KHIII as soon as he finished II, he wants other titles to lead up to it. Also I personally think S-E is doing a good job at supporting multi-console gaming. Want the full KH story? Go multiconsole. Sounds like a win-win strategy to me; the more idorts the better!

With FFVII though, that IS milking, especially when most of the spin offs really aren\'t much other than fan-service for FFVII fans. Mainseries FF titles are meant to be standalone, but KH is an expansive story based series.

I guess your right, though I think 1 bridge would be enough. Also, Coded is being made for mobile phones so I wonder how Square are going to go about releasing it outside Japan seeing as Before Crisis never made it here. Smilie

I'm hoping they'll come to Wiiware like FFIV: The After. An FFVII game on Wii, that'd be crazy! So it'll more than likely be on PSN instead.

maybe but a slap in face to fans look at FFXIII PS3 only in japan you really think KH3 will go to anywhere but PS3 when the story follow the psp game for the next game?

look at the boost in sales for ps3 for just the demo of ffxiii!

Dragon Quest 9/10 says hi. Square-Enix have the final say and if they want KH3 on Wii then it\'ll happen. I\'m hoping it\'s either for Wii or a multi-platform release like FF13.

It doesn\'t work like that. The story from KHII followed on from CoM, which was on GBA. The story of CoM followed on from KH, which was on PS2.

The story of Star Ocean 4 <360> is linked to that of Star Ocean 3 . Do I really need to say any more? FFXIII is PS3 only in Japan because the 360 does badly there, and for no other reason. The release would not be worth it, whereas over here it is.

However, the Wii is insanely popular in all regions; and with Disney characters (the whole \"family\" thing), KH would perform excellently on it.

In the end, S-E are a business. They will do what they believe is most profitable for themselves AND their fans. Most gamers have owned a Wii at some point. 1 + 1 is...?

Kingdom Hearts is more popular in America. In America the series has sold over 5million units, with around 3million in Japan.

That's not the point though; which console is the market leader in Japan? The Wii aswell... Why else is Dragon Quest X being made for Wii?

Yeah; and that's why I'm saying KHIII may not be a PS3 exclusive. S-E are really spready their wings after 6th gen; after a surprise like FFXIII being lost to 360, this could really go either way, especially since nearly half of the KH games are on Nintendo consoles.

If KH3 was made for PS3, I can see SE doing a FF13 and releasing it on 360 also in the west which would be awesome. Smilie
