RE: Archives BoxArt, Separate Releases on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The box art for the Western release of the original Resident Evil remake remade for Wii (what a tongue twister!) has emerged.

It seems that both Resident Evil and Resident Evil 0 will be packaged as separate releases, and according to retailer listings will come at $30 a piece. Owchies. Both games will be in stores from June 2009.

Thanks to NeoGAF.

Will you be buying either game when the pair arrive on the Wii this year? To you think the price is right, or should they really have been bundled together?

As two games, no. As one game, yes.

Capcom really knows how to over work the cash cow here... They could have bundled it up and priced slightly north of 30 quid. Nice to know Wii owners are still being fleeced and essentially funding projects on other platforms. Smilie

Capcom have gone so far down in my estimations. Their wii approach has been weak. They could at least do what Konami did and reimagine the games, use different graphics engine overhaul the level design change it up. They have treated the wii like port city.

Nice boxart. But a separate release is not a winner. Maybe after each game takes a price decline. Maybe.

But this is the proper resi/Biohazard, I mean, it is the orignal remade, and it\'s prequel.

Still, this is a rip off, I don\'t see it selling very well. I see these being about £20/£25 each in the UK.

Gonna wait till they drop in price before I buy both of em.

I was actually greatly considering getting this until I heard they'd be seperate. Nevermind then eh Capcom?

Fuck sakes - they should just bundle RE:Make, 0, 2, 3 on one disc and be done with it. At a stretch add 4 and dual-layer it up. £30 and you're onto a winner.

No way should people be shelling out £20 for a remake of a remake of an old game.

I'll consider buying them next year; or not. Then again I'd prefer if Capcom release Resident Evil 2 on the Virtual Console.

Also that box art is lame. Is it really necessary to have "Resident Evil" labeled on there twice?

I sold my soul to Sony for a PS3...

Thats american box art.

I'm pretty sure I wont be getting these games, I have both for the gamecube.

Capcom are just using the wii the same way nintendo are using it---- add wii controlls to old games. It stinks.
Give me something worth while.

Ah well back to de Blob
Note... de Blob = original greatness

Nope. Already own REmake and RE 0... which makes me realize now it\'s a great time to replay REmake once again.

Capcom should have made it a bundle and sell it for $39.99.

Talk about over milking the cow. It's a shame how i was turned off at the idea of this being a bundle of old games, but now this is just robbery. I hope no one supports Capcom for while they need to get their shit together. Although I still have hope for Monster Hunter Tri, I wonder how they'll ruin that?Smilie

Paying for online play

I wonder indeed.

I have to say its an interesting prospect and is no doubt going to sell well but I cannot get my head around Capcom's approach to Wii. Granted it takes time to develop games around the new control system but surely to god they have got the measure of it by now. Also to bring out these games again after already being remade for GC its beginning to become very annoying. At least this is a third party and Nintendo aren't doing this... oh wait yeah they are

I echo the sentiments of a lot of you guys, its too expensive and simply just a means of Capcom milking Wii owners yet again and still not giving them a truly new RE.SmilieSmilie

Still waiting for the remake of Monster Hunter 2 on PSP so I can try out the series. I think that'll determine whether I get 3 or not. I'm not much of an online player as some of you know, but I think pricing to play console games online is ridiculous.

And I'm still trying to get Zack & Wiki. I actually saw 2 good condition 2nd hand copies the other day; but I didn't have the money for it after I got Echoes of Time
